Blue Mountains: Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains are very close to Sydney and well worth a two day trip (at least!). The trip to Katoomba, the 'capital' of the BM takes two hours from Sydney Central and sets you back $ 11.

Blue Mountains: The Scenic World at the Blue Mountains
The Scenic World provides exciting rides in the Senic Railway, Scenic Flyway and the Scenic Skyway. This is located at Katoomba, not very far from the Katoomba Railway station. Scenic railway is described as the steepest railway in the world, which will take the visitors to the bottom of the Jamison Valley through a 45 degrees incline in an enclosed tramway. This tramway travels through the dense rainforest at a slow pace but the steep desent does cause a moment of scare.

Blue Mountains: An hour west of Sydney
The blue mountains are an escape from the busy city. Not only is it a more relaxed pace but the temp is usually 10 degrees cooler for those of you who need to escape the heat in summer.

The blue mountains...now noone expects them to be really blue but i didn't think they had a strong hint of blue in them at all, they would have been better off being called the purple/violet mountains!!! But i was told by my tourguide that they are called the Blue Mountains because of the 'blue' hue of the eucalyptus trees planted there.

Ok, complaints aside, it was a great trip. I was told by a friend to make sure I see this, and I made it my only demand on my trip, which is unlike me!!

There are many activites you can do here, a lot of them involve hiking, but however you see it, the scenery is absolutely magnificent!!

The best way to see it is via a tour guide, as they can take you to all the hidden spots on the way.

I would totally recommend seeing this, if you are interested, you should be, you can see my special travelogue! Indeed, the Blue Mountains deserve a special travelogue!

The tram place had bird feeders around that attracted some brightly colored birds.

The view r simply majestic. The 3 sisters. U need a good walking shoes for those trekking at the blue mountains valleys . Its the only way to see the katoomba falls. You could also take the KATOOMBA SCENIC RAILWAY that brings u down to the valley. Its the world's steepest incline railway OR not for the faint hearted, the SKYWAY.

    Blue Mountains: Mountain Escape
This is something I've done several times, with family or a group of friends. Normally one takes the car up the mountains friday night, and stay in cabins/hostels, do some sightseeing and head back down sunday afternoon. There lots to do in the Blue Mountains especially if you enjoy bush-walking and outdoor activities in general. Among others, the Three Sisters rock formation, Jenolan Caves, and Scenic World.

    Blue Mountains: Blue Mountains
Took the Blue Mountains train to Katoomba. A 2hr trip costing $14 back and forth. Upon exit from the Katoomba station, we were suppose to take the hop on hop off bus but the bus left us at 1:30PM so we just walked thru the echo point. It's a good 15 minute walk. We didn't take the cable car anymore as we were running out of time but we crossed the 3sisters bridge to get to the 2nd sister. Train leaves every hour.
