    The mountains are 100 km from Sydney and very easy to get to by train. Trains leave almost hourly and cost about $12 Lots more information and photos on my Blue Mountains page :-)

    Visit the Blue Mountains, at least for a day long. Just to escape from the city and get in touch with some rainforest and nature (not much wild life at all but...). Impressive rock formations like the Three Sisters, nice waterfalls, valleys... and a good hike with fresh air and smooth mountain smells :)

  • Directions: West of Sydney, at about 100km. You can reach them as easy as getting ('catching') a train to Katoomba, for an instance.

    The last thing we have done in Australia was visit The Blue Mountains, 150 km west of Sydney. A very Beautifull place to stay. With the Famous Three Sisters a rockformation made by the wind.

    Get to see The Blue Mountains. They really are a must see. The most popular destination is Katoomba (The Three Sisters). There are 3 choices of viewing-The Scenic Railway (very steep) The Skyway Cable Car (Very High) and The newest one the Scenic Skyrider (Least Hairy!) There's a rotating restaurant by the cable car ride as well-neat :) Unique wildlife and Countryside. Theres some great walks around here, get down to the bottom of the Valley where you are overlooked by the Three Sisters.

    Visiting the Blue Mountain. The weather is lovely up there and it would be nice to do a light trek following the trails on the mountain. Plenty of fresh air!

    The Blue Mountains is a unique region within a National Park, less than an hour's drive west of Sydney, where you will discover a natural wonderland of untamed bush, spectacular rock formations and abundant wildlife and birdlife. Some friends and I organised an abseiling expedition beforehand, unbelievably good fun!

    The Blue Mountains: Three Sisters Very beautiful natural area. A great way to escape the city and see some wonderful wildlife. Lots of different kinds of birds and kangaroos!!!

    Walking in the Blue Mountains is certainly a must. As we didn't start off early, we missed the cave tours. Nevertheless we managed to walk around the 3 Sisters, take the world's most vertical train ride, ride in a cable-car spanning the valley and walk down thousand or so steps for a nature trail. The air is really clear and crisp in the National Park and its a great place for hiking and photography.
