This lovely beach is better than Bondi in my opinion. There is a natural barricade of rocks breaking the big ocean waves, which enables you to enjoy the ocean. There is also a swimming pool with ocean water for kids. I enjoyed swimming in Bronte more than the other beaches in Sydney.
BRONTE Beach - just East of Sydney
This beautiful golden sand beach is just south of the world famous Bondi Beach, and you can enjoy a scenic COASTAL WALK between Bondi & Bronte.
This beach is great for surfing, swimming sunbathing, people watching or having a picnic or BBQ. There is a big grassy area, and picnic area. There is also a wonderful safe ocean swimming pool at the south end of the beach.
Parking can be a challenge, but with some patience, it can be found. There is also the bus available: http://www.sydneybuses.info
Food and drinks are available here, and the Surf Lifesavers Club are also here, be sure to swim between the flags, the rips here can be quite strong, so don;t underestimate them.
Overall, this is another gorgeous Sydney beach, and well worth a visit or at least a photo! Very scenic. Don't forget your sunscreen!
Walk from South Bondi to Bronte beach
Walk from South Bondi to Bronte Beach
This is a breathtaking coastal walk by the ocean, taking about 20-30 mins from South Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach. On the way you can see some lovely beachside homes and get a taste of the beachside lifestyle. At the end of the walk, stop and have lunch in one of the many cafes in Bronte overlooking the beach. So many people visiting Bondi Beach seem to miss this. Don't be one of them! (pic left: the pool at Bronte Beach)
Along the seafront of Sydney about 15 minutes drive from the town centre one finds Bronte Beach. Nicely siutated with white sands and great views over the cliffs near by. A lifeguard is on duty here.
