Sydney's Darling Harbour is not to be missed. It's got to be one of the world's greatest waterfront destinations. With fantastic views, the harbour offers more attractions such as Sega World, Harborside Shopping Center, an IMAX theatre, parks and playgrounds and also the waterfront National Maritime Museum.

Take a train, tram or even the monorail to visit Darling Harbour. I recommend a walk through the superb Chinese Gardens or a stroll along Cockle Bay Wharf and then visit the Sydney Aquarium for some amazing underwater scenery. The monorail goes over Pyrmont Bridge next to the Australian Maritime Museum with lots to see including the James Craig ship.

The aquarium in Darling Harbour is a fantastic place to bring kids. They will enjoy everything from the fish to the seals sunbathing in the sun.

The shark tanks are the best. You walk through a tunnel with the sharks swimming all around you, you can get a good close up view of those teeth!

There are lots of things to do at Darling Harbor: Outback Center, Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney Aquarium, Powerhouse Museum, IMAX Theater...

We did not visit any of these attractions. Indeed, we walked and shopped on the Harbor. This was also a wonderful experience.

At night, don't forget to dine at one of the best seafood restaurant in Sydney - Nick's Seafood Restaurant - We do recommend this. I would say this is the BEST restaurant we have visited in the whole trip.

    Darling Harbour: Darling Harbour
This is a huge tourist area in Sydney, loaded with restaurants, bars, and activities. There is a shopping mall and markets, an IMAX Theatre, museums (including the Sydney Aquarium), Chinese Garden, hotels, and exhibition halls. There is also some good nightlife.

You can access Darling Harbour from the monorail at the city centre.

    Darling Harbour: family fun
This is the place to bring the whole family. The kids will love it along with the teenagers, parents and even the grandparents.

You could probably spend all day here and still not cover everything.

Visit the aqaurium, the shopping centre, the Imax theatre, dine at one of the numerous restaurants and cafes.

Check out the museums and cultural centre, enjoy the street performers entertainment. Take one of the jet boat rides or cruises on the harbour.

The kids will love the games area were they can indulge in simulated rides, a bungy type trampoline, paddle boats on the small lake and (of course) the fast food outlets.
