    Upon arrival in Sydney and checking into our hotel we promptly started to explore Sydney. Our first stop was Darling Harbor for lunch. Darling Harbor is a lively area that boasts a solid retail area, some very good restaurants and the Sydney Aquarium. It is a good place to walk and introduce yourself to Sydney! If you are looking for a great place to eat at Darling Harbor I would suggest an Indian restaurant named Zaaffran. Great food, reasonable price and great service!

    Very beautiful place to spend some time in his coffes,bars and restaurants
    I suggest you to try some of the famous beers with the excellent view of the city .

    Visit the national maritime museum. The museum is free (until sometime in 2007). You can a good nautical history of australia. They have some interesting artwork, exhibits on aborginal nautical history and even a boat made out of soda cans!

    For additional costs, you can go on a submarine, a bucaneer and a war ship for a charge.

    9.30 am to 5.00 pm (6 pm in January) daily seven days a week. Closed Christmas.

    We booked a Jet Boat Harbour cruise. "Jet Boat" just fast speedboat with power stops, spins, wave bumps and wake jumps - nothing out of the ordinary for those who own/have ridden in speedboats. Guide pointed out aspects of harbour, annoyingly our tour was interrupted while we dropped off 6 pax mid-tour for their sea-plane trip and then had to return (and sit around waiting for 15 mins) for them to re-board. Usual splashes from wake, good close up sighting of other boats in harbour. Cost $70 per person, reasonably fun outing.

    We really enjoyed our visit to Darling Harbour. At the time there was a boat show so the Harbour was full of luxury yachts. We had a great time wandering around looking at beautiful boats we cant afford. As part of this event they had a boat building competition. All of the entrants are apprentices. This was very interesting and the guys worked at a super speed.
    There are many restaurants in the area and we had a very nice breakfast at one of them. After that we continued our walk taking in the waterfalls that line the pathways.

  • We went on a terrific value Dinner, Dance, & Cabaret cruise. It left at 7.30p.m. on a Friday night and returned at 11.30 p.m. The captain made sure we got good opportunities to photograpgh the Sydney opera house on the outward cruise. The food was plentiful and of good quality. Followed by cakes and tea and coffee. The cabaret was entertaining. Definately worth the Au$69 and a highlight of our stay in Sydney. There did seem to be a lot of noisy girls on hen parties (about 4 groups), but it was worth putting up with. We booked from their kiosk near the Sydney harbour (along the promenade).

    Well Sydney was just out of this world , with only 4 days to spend we had loads on our list , the 1st was after checking into the Star City casino , dump our bags then found are way to Darling Harbour had some food and a walk around just brill

    Wildlife World is a new attraction opened in September 2006 at Darlin Harbour. Here you will find reptiles, insects, koalas, kangaroos, bilbies, and many other animals spread out in ecological Australian habitats. Admission is quite expensive: 28 dollars for visitors (19 dollars
    reduction for students). The tour is interesting and so is the information. You can learn a lot
    of new stuff about Australia's rich and varied fauna.
    The gift shop is also great !!!

    Wow, Darling Harbour .. so much in such small place. Just loved it! Every week there seemed to be an event to go along and see. Lots of open air music and entertainment. Just look out for the flags and the flyers, guaranteed great day / night!

    You can pick up a water taxi from just outside the aquarium and goes round to the opera house and under the sydney harbour bridge. definately a good experience - and fast
