the chinese gardens in darling harbour are a great getaway from the surrounding city. a welcome change from the skyscrapers. just a pity that the skyscrapers are still evident.
lots of snack bars vying for your tourist dollar, as well as plenty of asian specialty shops. paddys markets are also a source of cheap and often nasty bargains.
Check out the underwatertunnels with nice views on all kinds of fish, like sharks.
They swim right over your head.
This is the perfect place for an evening stroll. There are bars and restaurants, a shopping mall, a casino, a cinema complex, Sydney Aquarium, a concert hall, harbour boat trips and plenty more.
ANZAC bridge near Pyrmont (not that far from Darling Harbour) is an interesting looking bridge. Tourists don't flock to this bridge unlike Harbour Bridge .
Chinese New Years DRAGON BOAT RACE
In February the grand Dragon Boat Races take place in Darling Harbour.
Definitely a spectacle worth a visit.
An authentic Chinese garden (designed by the city of Guangdong) it has a tranquility that is quite unexpected considering it is in the middle of a busy cosmopolitan city.
sydney's underwater aquarium, naval musem, i max, games restaurants.
everything down there.
10 minutes walk from the city center and easy to reach with monorail which make 2 stops in the area.
the sydney harbour is beautiful.
i recommend doing the harbour bridge climb, its cost around 100 dollers but it great
also taking the fairy around the harbour is a delight.
At Darling Harbour, it is a place where you can enjoy the sity sight during the day and night time. Stroll around the harbour and also dine at the restuarant at the sild walk.
In Darling Harbour, you will discovered a war ship. This is the Australian National Maritime Museum. Drop by and have a look.
It was a great place to go and people watch - we were there in mid winter, but we still managed to find a place in the outside seating at a cafe (Just like England eh?)
The shark tanks are the best. You walk through a tunnel with the sharks swimming all around you, you can get a good close up view of those teeth!
It's nice to go here to have Chinese Tea. It is a very calm and relaxed spot in Darling Harbour, with the city just outside.
