It's nickname is "the coathanger". Completed in 1932, the Harbour Bridge is one of Sydney's most famous icons. The deck is 59 m (194 ft) above sea level, and the arch spans 503 m (1,650 ft). Over 150,000 vehicles cross the bridge each day. Take a walk on the pedestrian walkway, the views of Sydney Harbour are spectacular. Leave a Comment Address: Bus: All routes to The Rocks

Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Museum & Lookout. Entry to the Pylon is from the pedestrian walkway on the Harbour Bridge. Entry to the walkway is via stairs in Cumberland Street, The Rocks. There are 200 steps inside to Pylon. For a unique perspective of a beautiful city, climb the 200 stairs to the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout. Your efforts will be rewarded with a spectacular 360 degree view of the city as well as a fascinating insight into the bridge’s history. It's cheap - I can't remeber how much but I know it was only a few bucks. Good place to learn about the history of the bridge. Good place for some stunning photos. Also, it gives you an idea on whether you think it's worth going on the expensive Sydney bridge climb. You should see all of the touristy things - the bridge, opera house etc. You have to go to these places and take photos just to prove you've been. The whole area around the opera house is really nice to walk around on a summer evening. If you get the chance to take in a performance, do so. I went to see a comedy show which didn't eventuate but I still enjoyed myself. Leave a Comment

The main reason I wanted to visit Sydney City was to see the Harbour Bridge. Bridge construction is always my favourite subject, that's why I like seeing different bridges all over the world. The Harbour Bridge is a steel truss structure, massive yet elegant. I felt so good when I first saw it in reality... I nearly screamed!! Will I have the chance to design a similar bridge in one day? A recent Sydney resident insists that one must climb Harbour Bridge. They suggests that dusk is the best time because one can see the different colours of sunset. There is a website with details at http://www.bridgeclimb.com.au . Cameras are not allowed on the climb, though there are lockers to store belongings during the climb. Leave a Comment

Great views of the city and harbour from the tower, or walk right up to the top! There is a museum in the south tower which shows how the bridge was built-a magnificent feat of engineering. See the bridge and the Opera House etc. I didn't get around to climbing the bridge - a combination of limited funds and time as well as terrible weather on arrival. Leave a Comment

Enjoy the view from the Pylon Lookout. The photography was taken from here. From this point you can see all the bay and the steel bridge itself. And also, all the ferries going in and out and the continuous traffic on the bridge. Leave a Comment Address: Sydney Harbour Bridge.Other Contact: Open 10am - 5pm Phone (02) 9247
