    Palm Beach

Palm Beach is a northern beachside suburb of Sydney where they film the outdoor location for the Australian soapie "home & away" Palm Beach, then becomes "Summer Bay."

Palm Beach is located at the north tip of the Sydney Northern Beaches Peninsula, 41 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. .
There is a surf club on the south end of the beach and a rock pool.
Barranjoey Lighthouse is a 20-30 minute walk away, offering great views of the Hawkesbury River outlet to the ocean, Broken Bay and the Pittwater. The historic lighthouse, situated on Barranjoey Head is surrounded by an Aquatic Reserve while Barranjoey Head is part of the Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park.
The journey here by public bus can take about 1hr 30 mins, depending on the traffic. The scenery on the journey to the end is quite pleasant. Palm Beach is also the area where the rich and famous have homes

    Ferries.............http://www.palmbeachferry.com.au/

If using public transport from the Sydney CBD, catch an L90 Palm Beach bus from Lee Street (Railway Square) or Carrington Street (Wynyard).

    Palm Beach - Pittwater.

Palm Beach is uncomplicated to get to by Public Transport, just hop on the L90 from Wynyard Station; you could also get off and discover some other interesting suburbs such as Newport and Avalon Beach whilst waiting for the next bus. It takes approx 60 – 80 minutes depending on traffic as various parts of the road turns and winds around some rather spectacular scenery. Another alternative is to catch a Seaplane from Rose Bay it takes about 12 – 15 minutes, but this can be expensive.

The most northerly suburb along Sydney's coastline, but some fantastic views can be enjoyed by stopping along Barrenjoey Road.

Check out the pictures. I think it's a beautiful part of the World. They are the views of the Pittwater (western) side of Palm Beach.

Those people living there are so lucky. ;)

Palm Beach is the very last beach north along Sydney's coastline. It has two types. The main part is the surf beach on the Pacific Ocean side (east), and the western side, Pittwater (Hawksberry River) side where there are no waves.

The more ideal part for swimming is the eastern side though. There is also a lighthouse which you can walk up to for great views.

The TV Show "Home and Away" is filmed at Palm Beach, known as "Summer Bay" on the show.

Unforgettable PALM Beach - Sydney's premiere beach

    Palm Beach, NSW

The ultimate beach destination in the Sydney area is without a doubt - PALM BEACH. Yes, it's about 90 minutes north of Sydney CBD, but it's truly worth the time to get here. Not only is the drive one of the most scenic I've ever been on, it's almost magical it's so beautiful. Travelling north up the coast, enjoying the beauty of beach after beach.

This beach is incredible and amazing. The most northerly of the "northern beaches". Perfect for swimming, sunbathing, walking along the water, surfing, enjoying a picnic or BBQ, people watching. It's no secret that many celebrities and well known people from Australia and all over the world come to enjoy this beach. They also film outdoor scenes from Australia's tv soapie HOME & AWAY at the north end of the beach. You'll recognize the scenery if you a regular viewer.

Beautiful golden brown sand, warm tropical breezes, gorgeous palm trees, breath-taking multi-million dollar homes and unforgettable views. This beach is very special.

If you are feeling adventurous, there is a fantastic walk up the Barrenjoey lighthouse with even more spectacular views. You'll need at least an hour to do the walk and also good walking shoes and plenty of water.

Fish & chips, souvenirs, specialty shops and more can be found here at Palm Beach. The L90 bus also stops within steps of the beach itself. If you are driving, parking might be challenging, but with patience or a bit of walking, you can find a spot.

I would put this beach on a must see list for any Sydney visitor who enjoys beaches. And it's also a photographer's dream.

Don't forget your sunscreen & extra water - they are an absolute essential.

Palm Beach - if you are a fan of the TV soapie, 'Home and Away', then you wouldn't want to miss out on visiting the beach where it is filmed. Even if you are not a fan the beach is a great place for lounging around on the sand or in the surf.
