Parks / National Parks / Gardens: Hyde Park at twilight
  • Tip Rating:
  • As the sun sets, the fairy lights in the trees light up and the Archibald foundation glows. On a warn Spring/Summer night it's a truly sublime experience.

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: Strolling down the Royal...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Strolling down the Royal Botanic Gardens and watch the sunset The Gardens are wonderful places to get out of the city life within the city, the plantation there is great, and the scenery is wonderful. Watch the sunset by the water along The Domain, Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. Amazing experience.

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: Hydepark
  • Tip Rating:
  • Hydepark was founded in 1810 by govenor Macquarie and named after the park in London. Once the colony’s first racetrack and cricket pitch. Now it is an oasis of peace in the middle of the busy citycentre witha grand avenue of trees and delightful fountains like the beautiful bronze and granite Archibald Fountain. The 30m high Anzac Memorial in Art deco style dates from 1834 and commemorates the Australians who were killed for their country. Inside the building you will find fee exhibition covering the nine overseas conflicts in which Australians fought and many lost their lives.

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: Hyde Park

  • Named after Hyde Park in London, this area was declared a park as early as 1792 and Australia’s first recorded cricket match was played here in 1804.

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: The Royal Botanical Gardens
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Sydney Botanical Gardens are a must. And I'm saying this even though I'm not a garden type of guy -- in fact, I only recognize a few typres of plants (grass, pine, palm, weed, artifical, plants whose leaves I need to rake, etc.) whereas my wife believes that there are literaly thousands of types of plants! So while she was busy touching, feeling and, yes, even tasting, various green living organisms, I was appreciating everything else. The botanical gardens offer great views of the Opera House and Harbor Bridge, along with excellent running trails, stunning birdlife and great people-watching. For the best photos, I recommend visiting in the morning to catch the sun hitting the Opera And then it won't be too hot to just sit in the soft grass and relax. But, if you must ignore me, come after dark, when outdoor films are shown with the Harbour as a backdrop.

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: The Botanical Garden in Sydney.
  • Tip Rating:
  • After a long day of running around in Sydney, take a couple of hours relaxing in the Botanical Garden, not far from the Opera House. Hug a tree, talk to the birds and walk barefeet in the grass.

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: Hyde Park
  • Tip Rating:
  • This park is a little natural refuge in the midst of city centre. It's a good quiet rest place after a long day of site seeing or what have you. It's a lovely place to sit and have a muffin whilst you're waiting for the airline offices to open :) This fountain is a bit of a central fixture in the park.

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: Chinese Garden
  • Tip Rating:
  • Designed in China to celebrate the bicentenary, the Chinese Garden was a gift from New South Wales' sister state, the Guangdong province in China. With its winding paths, waterfalls, lakes, pavilions and a teahouse that overlooks the water, the Chinese Gardens is the most beautiful natural habitat in Sydney. Featured behind the lake are two carvings of dragons, one representing Guangdong province and the other representing New South Wales. The Chinese Garden is also known to many as the "Garden of Friendship." Open... 9:30am-5:30pm Weekdays, 9:30am-6pm Weekends Cost:- You will have to check, too long ago that I was there

Parks / National Parks / Gardens: The Arboretum
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Arboretum I visited the arboretum, minutes away from the opera house. The site is gorgeous, you will find plants from all over the planet, ducks, and even the odd monkeys in the trees. Nice place to relax close to downtown to cure your jetlag. Classification: Site Seeing , Photography
