    Taronga Zoo has this great area set aside to view the Harbour. Its next to the giraffe house. Here you can take a photo of yourself, a statue of and an Australian platypus, against the backdrop of the city and it famous bridge. We got to this area as evening approached and after running around all day sightseeing it was lovely to take a moment, smell the sea air and take in the view.

    The bridge climb is a must, little bit expensive, cost about £72, which was pre-booked in the UK but well worth the money, first part is the hardest climbing up through the traffic lanes but once on the arch pretty easy climb.
    Views are fantastic at the top and you're linked to a very knowledgeable guide through headsets.
    Note, you are breathalysed before the climb so be careful how much you drink.

    The harbour is the defining characteristic of the city. It was officially called Port Jackson, the harbour stretches 20 kms inland to joint the nouth of the Paramatta River.

    There is so much to do around the Harbour. Visit Mrs. McQuarrie's point, Hyde Park Barracks, The Art museum of Sydney, The Australian Museum and the Museum of Sydney. All of these places were interesting and unique of each other (despite the similarities in the names of a couple of them). It's fun to window shop in the section of the city called The Rocks, and you'll find a lot of great places to eat.

  • We took a 2.5hour ferry cruise around the harbour and the little inlets where lots of rich people live!! Goes right out to the heads, and cuts along the beaches like Shark Bay, Rose Bay and Double Bay.

    We went on our first full day here, and I would recommend it to get a great feel for the place.

    Sit on the right side of the boat, then you will see what they are commentating on.

    Look at my travelouge for lots and lots of pictures of posh houses!

    Whats there to say. You can climb the bridge if u want. i'm afraid of heights. so i din't go, but it must be an experience!!!

  • You are looking at anywhere between AU$120 to $225, but it is well worth it. I took the day climb and it is amazing what you can see from the top. 360 degree of the amazing harbour and surrounds
