Sydney Opera House: Sydney Opera House
Pretty much every major city in the world has some kind of monument that sets it apart from all the others and definitively identifes it. It Sydney it's the famous opera house that sits on the harbor. I actually got to see a play there one night (The Rake's Progress by Igor Stravinsky) and was surprised that, on the inside, it's actually a lot smaller than you might expect. It was still a great experience though.

Sydney Opera House: Shows at the Opera House
Prices for shows at the Opera House depend on what they are showing.
There are heaps of different shows they put on like operas, plays, music concerts, comedy shows, etc. So it just depends on what's on when you visit. Sometimes there are shows at the front of the Opera House. These are usually special events, but again it can be either very expensive or inexpensive.

It is free to walk around most of the outside. Otherwise there are tours that you can go on.

They post everything that's on at the official website www.sydneyoperahouse.com

Sydney Opera House: Sydney Opera House - the icon of Australia
Sydney's Opera House is undoubtedly the icon of Australia. Its characteristic sail-shaped roof formed the logo of the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Designed by Danish architect Jern Utzon and completed in 1973, the Opera House stands at Bennelong Point overlooking the magnificent Sydney Harbour. It is host to major international performing groups and music festivals including the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. During a trip to Sydney in December 2000, my friend invited me for a concert by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House. The interior was huge and modern and the acoustics were superb.
