  • The Day Tripper costs 13.40 (australian dollars) & allows you unlimited use of the local buses, trains & ferries. You can buy it on the local bus or at most train stations or at the transit shops. However, be advised that it does not work for the train stations in Mascot or at the airport. I was staying in Mascot so I utitilized the public buses from there to town. It is a good bargain.

    The Sydney Day Tripper ticket allows you to travel on the Sydney City Rail, Sydney buses and Sydney ferries all day long and untill 4am next morning. The tickets cost $13.40 .The train boundries are,Bondi Junction, Cowan, Carlingford,Olymic Park, Richmond, Macarthur, Emu Plains, Otford and Cronulla.The exceptions are the Sydney Airport Stations.

  • Don't bother buying single tickets for anywhere. Grab a $15.40 DayTripper pass. It costs $15.40 and you get unlimited travel for that day on Sydney Buses, Trains and Ferries until 4 am the next morning.

  • If you're in Sydney for ~ week you should check out the options that the travelpasses can give you. A Red TravelPass for $30/week gives you travel on almost all trains, buses & ferry's within a large area of the city & surrounding suburbs. Consider, buying a ticket or two each day would probably cost more than this Ask at any train station for details of the different travel passes

    We took Qantas over the 'big lake' from L.A. I am used to flying from the east coast to Europe. To me, it didn't feel that much different we took the subway, busses and ferrys everywhere. there are several different metro passes you can choose from. it's a good deal.
