    Australia was one of the most remarkable travel experiences I have ever made. Its people, the landscapes, the cosmopolitan cities and the great out door experience both in the outback, the corals of the Great Barrier Reef, the tropical cities in the north and then the most magnificent on earth – Sydney! The biggest warning of all – and not sure if it is a bad one – you may never want to leave again…. For me I can’t wait to get back – and I am flying back “Down Under” in the next few weeks again!

    My fake 'arrest' in the Sydney Olympic park during the summer Games 2000. Certainly due to the fact I was yodling SWISS, SWISS, SWISS, GO, GO, GO... and wearing a white and red flag instead of green and yellow one;-) Just kidding it was the most fairplay athmosphere that I ever experience in sports!!! Afterward I do not know why the two police officers insist to take a picture with me in front of Stadium Australia (you could guess it in the background...)

    As everyone knows by now, the OZ Olympics was an unqualified success. Without exception I found the Aussies to be enthusiastic and friendly. Not a tense moment or rude moment the entire time....terribly impressive and monumentally memorable.

  • ...with Sydney. I've only been here now for almost 2 days and already i just absolutely love it. I know i have to go home tomorrow but i really don't want to! I just absolutely love Sydney. Its cost me a lot, but it has just been excellent.   • Oh please. Appart from some usually pretty smelly streets and foul language, it's not much harm until you incapacitate yourself and fall around the street drunk or high looking for trouble. It gets roudy... but unless you prod the spiders they stay in their corners.. and sometimes people get mugged in alley ways. But as a girl living and working alone their for a year... I never once felt threatened. If you want a quiet or respectable night out, then no this night spot and redlight district aint the place. But there are a few cool cafes and nightclubs.

    Sydney is such a fabulous city. It's so clean and the people are so friendly. Everything is beautiful from the Opera House to the ferries. The restaurants are great and the shops are wonderful. I din't want to leave but I'll be back very soon!
