These falls are part of the Budderoo national park which are situated about a 30 to 40 minutes drive south of Wollongong close to the village of Jamberoo.
The Minnamurra rain forest has a 1.6km elevated Rainforest Loop Walk with a network of raised timber boardwalks that crosses over many creeks.
This first walk is an easy walk with disabled access and takes about an hour.
About half way around the Rainforest Loop Walk visitors have the option to walk to the Minnamurra Falls.
This track covers a distance of about 2.6 kms (return) and is much harder and steeper than the first one, but the view of the Minnamurra falls at the top is worth the climb.
If you do both walks you will need about 2 and a half hours.
They have picnic and BBQ areas as well as a food and souvenier shop.

The Sublime Point Lookout, a short drive off the Princes Highway at Bulli Tops, NSW has spectacular views all up and down the Southern Highlands Coast. This is the view of Austinmer, in front of the Point.
The water was so calm and so clear, I was convinced that we could see migrating whales. Alas... none were seen. But maybe in the fall when the whales migrate north and pass closer to the coast.... Bring your binoculars!

Woolongong is located behind the 4th point of land; the shortest point with the small white lighthouse on it.... in front of the point with the gigantic smokestack on it.
The lookout is truly a beautiful place. You'll listen to the calls of the birds in the forest behind you, and occasionally you might see a big white sulphur-crested cockatoo soar down towards the town below. The ocean was so calm this day that we could practically see every riffle of wind on the water.

There is a lookout from the top of Mount Keira which gives an excellent view of the city. It is accessible by both car and foot. By car you take the Mt. Keira Road to the top. By foot you take the footpath from behind the university. Google Earth community has a placemark for the enterance to the footpath. There is a restaurant at the top, but the opening hours are a bit limited.

There's a mountain range that runs along adjacent to the Pacific ocean, which is only a few kilometres from the city of Wollongong.
These mountains have numerous walking trails that are mostly well maintained and marked and they are great for bushwalking through to try to keep fit and to enjoy the peacefullness of the bush.
Here I am at Mount Kembla with my son Ben on one particular Saturday afternoon.
It takes about an hour and a half to walk this trail is called the ring track which is about 3-4 kilometres long.

I would definately recommend a weekend side trip to Honeymoon Bay. Its about a 2.5 hour drive south of Wollongong. Check out my Nowra pages for your perusal.
