The Farm is a great beach for surfing, it is located just south of Wollongong, near Bass Point. You have to have a car to get here, and there is a short 5 minutes walk from the parking lot to the beach, but totally worth it! It is a sand bottom beach with rocks on the sides, a great place for beginners and experienced surfers.
Equipment: You will need board of course, Wollongong has plenty of board shops, and even a few local shapers. You can get new or used boards in most of them.

The streets of Wollongong can be crazy after a home game of any sort...
Parking can be extremely difficult to find, even hours before a game. My hot tip is to use public transport, or if your close enough, walk.
Equipment: Food and beverages can be expensive in the grounds. Alcohol can not be taken into sporting venues as they conduct bag searches upon entry.
