    purple trees

Favorite thing: The most beautiful thing I noticed upon reaching the outskirts of the town of Atherton itself, were the beautiful purple blossomed trees, that we hadn't seen anywhere else in Queensland. I've no idea what type of trees they were, unfortunately.

    Historic Church

Favorite thing: Here we have a historic wooden church in a little town on the way to Atherton. The detailed brochure actually says that this is the most historic village in North Queensland, but when we got out of the car, the old buildings are far and few between, and there's not that much to see.
The few old buildings we did find though were nice, but they just didn't live up to the expectations of the glossy brochure.
