Keep your eyes open as you stroll througout Australia Zoo. It's located in a more rural area outside Beerwah, and thanks to the wonderful landscaping and habitat creations, many "non-zoo" creatures find life "on the inside" to their liking. You'll see your share of exotic birds, an occasional snake, lots of water dragons and such.

To anyone who's a fan of THE CROCODILE HUNTER, the "Croc Hunter's Lair" is an integral part of the show. I was a bit surprised to learn that it really exists, it's not just a set. The "lair" is resident on the zoo grounds, over near the kangaroo encounter area. (on the path that leads up to the big cats habitat) It's not publicized, it's just a building over off the trail, with an Australia Zoo emblem on the outside. The zoo staff, during our VIP visit, told us that it was the famous lair.
