I have eaten here on a number of occasions. The atmosphere is casual and the service very good. The menu has always had a good choice.
You can eat inside or out in the spacious beer garden.
Favorite Dish: They do a very good grilled Barramundi with a citrus sauce.
The winery 'cellar door' and restaurant are in a converted 'Old Queenslander' style house with wide verandahs and a spectacular view. We decided to combine lunch with some wine tasting during our day out on the Blackall Range.
After the tasting - so we knew what to order - we were shown to our table. Our order was taken promptly and the wine arrived. Unfortunately it took an hour before our meals arrived. This may have been due to that fact that while we were tasting a large group of diners arrived.
The food, when it arrived, was very good. I will give it another go.
Favorite Dish: I, and one of the party, had the roasted lamb with cummin and coriander. It was quite a good serve and cooked well. The other membes of our party had a beef cheek entree served with a shiraz jus and asparagus spears. Both enjoyed the dish but found it small after the long wait.

Mapleton Tavern is known for it great food. It offers a range of food from standard pub food like burgers, fish and chips and bangers and mash to gourmet burgers and Asian & Continental style. The steaks are cook according to taste - Medium rare is medium rare.
Being a pub there is no table service and you order meals at the counter and return to collect them when the buzzer you are given sounds.
The bar has a good range of beers but limited wine list. Not to worry - the bottle shop on the premises has an excellent variety.
The view from the verandah is spectacular
Favorite Dish: I really enjoy any of the steaks which are cooked just right and are served with vegetables or chips and salad and a variety of sauces like mushroom, pepper and red wine.
