It's great whether you want a nite out with the girls or guys or just to meet interesting people cause there is always plenty there. I've only been Friday and Saturday nites so im not sure what its like any other time. Well worth a visit for anyone who wants to dance and have fun. While there's bars & pokies galore, most people go to the Exchange to dance. When you walk in the door, on your right you will see the dance floor. Surrounded by boxes to dance on, the floor is packed, especially Friday and Saturday night. The Exchange - or The Stocky, as it is known to regulars - is arguably the most popular club in the city. With no cover charge, a full dance floor and some mixed up popular tunes, most people out on the town will hit up the Exchange between midnight and three. Hot spot for 18-25s - if you like something a little sophisticated, go elsewhere! Warning: it will get hot, it will get sweaty.
This is a city club, so guys need a collar & leather shoes. Chix can normally get away with whatever (especially if they're good looking) - wear heels and you'll be safe. ALSO: Be aware that they started to crack down on letting drunks in. If you sway or fool around while you are in line, the Big Boys may not let you in. The Exchange is on the left, opposite the Victory (you will see the big V for the Vic)

The Vic as we refer to it, is a great atmosphere. It comprises a bit of everything... Live music in the beer garden, dance music upstairs, pokies and TAB.... The best time to visit is 1pm on sundays... this is when the Jugs and Hooters arvo begins. The Brisvegans are quite adept at drinking and this is a chance to exhibit their forte! Cheap jugs of beer and spirits, great atmosphere and live music set the scene early.
A lot of city clubs require smart casual, long pants (some jean types wont always work), nice shoes and a collared shirt for the guys. Brisbane city clubs are quite fussy when it comes to dress codes. If you're more relaxed in style, you're better off visiting the Fortitude Valley, where collared shirts and dress shoes are actually too dressy!!! Unfortunately its a Valley nite OR a city nite in Brisbane. Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

!!! UNDER CONSTRUCTION !!! Please bring photo ID with you as The Zoo is an over 18s location. The Zoo has live bands (Magic Dirt often play here), pool tables and a bar. Has a water fountain. :-) Can get quite hot and stuffy, but you can leave the building and grab some fresh air on the footpath outside.
I would imagine that you can really wear anything, as long as it's presentable. Most people don't tend to get too dressed up. Can get quite hot inside. For yuppy types or posers, head to the city. The best bars/clubs to try are: Fridays (on the Riverside, weeknights - full of the local money corporate mob, weekends - full of young ex-private school crowd), Port Office (Cnr. Edward & Mary Sts, more of a 25-35 age group of clinetele wiht money), Stocky (Cnr. Edward & Elizabeth Sts, recently been refurbished and is currently 'the place to go'). There are more, but these are the most popular.
Smart - anything from chinos and a shirt, to a tuxedo! No thongs (flip flops!) or singlets! Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Brisbane City Centre

Just to the north of the city centre, is a small area of Chinatown which is also a great area of nightclubs, bars, restaurants (not just Chinese) and cafes. It's small and doesn't really feel very Chinese, but it is packed at the weekends, and felt a very friendly place to be. Everyone was eating out on the pavement, the doors were all open and it was just a 'happening' place to be. Try this area during Chinese New Year or the Lantern Festival to get extra activities and fun.
