    For arts and culture, the serious head to South Bank, home of the Queensland Museum, with its hands-on interactive displays, and the Queensland Art Gallery, its walls adorned with a magnificent collection of artworks.
    Or you can catch a world-class performance at the Performing Arts Centre where international theatre companies and performing artists take the stage along with Australian performing arts companies.

    Situated in the expansive Southbank precinct, there are a number of theatres of varying sizes and a concert hall in the complex - The Playhouse, Lyric Theatre, Cremorne and the Concert Hall. There's a great little theatre museum, where there are always interesting and innovative displays for the real buff as well. The theatre gift store always has high quality goodies, and is well worth a visit as well.

    A range of local, interstate and international acts are enjoyed here throughout the year.

    What is Qpac?

    Well Qpac is the Queensland Peforming Arts Complex where shows such as Mummamia, Quidam and the likes peform.

    Ideally situated on the banks of the Brisbane River at South Bank, alongside 17 hectares of river walks, manicured parks, rainforest settings, restaurants and craft markets, QPAC is a five minute walk from the city heart. QPAC is part of the dynamic South Bank precinct. Right next door to Qpac is the Brisbane Art gallery and Musium. Well worth a look.

    10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday
    and to curtain-up on performance nights

    Optus Playhouse Coffee Shop
    Lunch Monday to Saturday 12.00 noon to 2.00pm
    pre- and post-theatre light meals on performance nights

    The Lyrebird Restaurant
    Open for lunch of matinee performance days
    and pre-theatre meals and post-theatre suppers on performance nights
