Morning Tea or Lunch on Buderim

    by wise23girl Updated Feb 12, 2012

    They cook with butter

Well you have a choice to make and what a choice.

I really like Chopping Block situated about in the centre of town. They cook with butter not horrible margarine. They have baby quiche and a vegetarian wrap (beautiful warm vegs in the middle). And their coffee is good too.

Then Buderim Cafe with outdoor tables set in a beautiful courtyard is another good choice. You can view their offerings in a cabinet to make your selection. Goulash and lamb curry and rice are my favourites. And you can buy a dress from Gingers boutique while you wait.

And I must mention Rosies. Oh NO Rosies will soon be closed!I used to enjoy a toasted cheese sandwich while sitting on the very comfortable couch. Sometimes my friend joined me for a chat If you look through my travel pages and see me with a green handbag...well Rosie sold handbags!

    Nothing is forever

Near to Rosies WAS the cup cake shop(closed), Now there is a little place where the cup cakes used to be!..The Vet, and a Bootmaker are there as well.

And you must not miss the very special Le Baroque with its elegant tea room. Open for morning tea, lunch, and dinner at night( some nights). Le Baroque has a tip of its own under restaurants on Buderim.

    Mooloolaba, safe surfing beach.

Aptly named the Sunshine Coast due to the extended periods of clear blue sky and sunshine experienced for nine months of the year, the Sunshine Coast has long been a favourite holiday destination to local Queenslanders and other Australian tourists for many years. The Sunshine Coast is located one easy hours drive from Brisbane International Airport. The region stretches for some 50 kilometres from Caloundra in the South to Noosa in the North.
Mooloolaba Beach is rapidly becoming "The Noosa of the south" and safe surfing, excellent restaurants and resort acommodation make it the perfect place to holiday

Underwater World and The Wharf complex.

UnderWater World is located adjacent to Mooloolaba Beach on the Wharf complex, Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba. This attraction also offers a combination of exciting wildlife and entertainment for your visit. You can feel your heart pound as you see life through a shark's eye when you walk through the underwater tunnel. This is also the only venue in Australia that lets you dive with huge sharks and sting rays without being a certified diver.

COST: AUS$24.00 per adult or AUS$17.00 per student.

Fly a glider over the Sunshine Coast.

Lets get this baby into the air!

One of the best ways to take in the Sunshine Coast is from a Diamond in the Sky motor glider!
The two-seater craft has a 1.2-litre engine, a 16.5m wing span and a glass bubble canopy. The average gliding speed with the motor off is about 90km/h and the great thing is that it can go closer to the beautiful beaches and mountains than a normal aircraft ever could.

    Noosa from the air.

One of the rules when gliding is that the pilot gives the passenger a flying lesson!!!!!! Once at an altitude of about 1300m, the engine is cut and the glider is powered purely by thermal winds. Trips start at Maroochydore Airport and go north-west to Cooroy, then east to Noosa and then south along the coastline where you get a bird's-eye view of Alexandria Bay and the strip's famous beaches — Sunshine, Sunrise, Peregian and Coolum — and sometimes dolphins or whales.

    Nature walks on Buderim

    by wise23girl Updated Sep 25, 2010

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    The Tramway Walk

There are a number of beautiful walks. First there is the charming Foote Santuary walk.
A little bit tricky to find but ask a local or call in to the old Post Office for directions.

Another rainforest walk leads form near Harry's Restaurant(bottom Lindsay Road) to the top of Buderim in Quorn Close. From here you can easily find Buderim Village.

And last but not least follow what is left of the old tramway track.

You can find this charming walk hidden away between Buderim and Forest Glen. The track is built on the right -of-way of the tramway as it descends through the rainforest to the base of Buderim Mountain. Major highways now block the rest of the original track to Palmwoods.
The journey of the walk is 1600m return.
In its heyday, 1914 to 1935 the tram ( pulled by a Krauss locomotive ) brought visitors from Brisbane via Palmwoods to Buderim Mountain.

To find the walk first locate Mons Road , Buderim then note where Mons Road joins Telco Road. By car easy or a bit of a walk.

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    In the Ginger Factory Garden

The Buderim Ginger factory was originally located in Buderim, but it is no longer

Just a short 20kms away, now at Yandina, you will find the factory in a lovely setting.

They say,.....Come for the day, there is a Cafe and Take away meals available, delicious Ginger icecream, souvenirs, train ride and more.
In the area around Yandina, you will see paddocks of Ginger growing, it actually could be mistaken for Sugar cane.

GETTING HERE.....TAKE THE M1...(Bruce Highway) and watch and follow the signs in Yandina.

ALL TOURS & RIDES ARE UNDERCOVER, SO CAN BE DONE IN ALL WEATHER.

There is plenty for the whole family to do, and its a learning experience as well, I'm sure you will enjoy, we keep on going back!

Please check out my YANDINA page for more info.
