Big Apple Cafe serves typical sandwiches, wraps and a few other quick snack type foods. The costs and quality of them are about average. However, they do have a breakfast special for $10 which includes a drink. The quality, size and price of breakfast here is possibly the best deal in town.

Fetta's is a Greek restaurant with good seafood. It has a nice authentic Greek setting and was fairly quiet when I went.
I had kalamari with a shot of ouzo. The kalamari was cooked perfectly, and the ouzo went down smooth. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 70 Abbott StreetPhone: 07 4051 6966

Large portions of traditional aussie pub food, they do a great steak and the beef and guiness pie is pretty spectacular too.

This Restaurant/Bar sits right on the waterfront at Port Douglas, just past the St Marys by the Sea Church. If you're not hungry it's a great place to just sit and chill out with a drink, but if you're hungry you won't be disappointed. They do a variety of food, and everything we had and saw others having was delicious. The service was wacky but friendly and efficient and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Port Douglas.
I had Prawn Caesar Salad which was fantastic, with plenty of succulent prawns on show and a nice fried egg on top. buy a plate and fill it with whatever takes your fancy ! prices start from $5 for a small plate to $11 for a large one there are several stalls in the food hall offering this, prices are really cheap and the food is great, freshly cooked with lots of choice on the opposite side are Pizza and Italian food stalls serving good sized portions also at great prices, but the oriental food was our favourite Leave a Comment Theme: Pan-Asian and Pacific RimPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: in the Night Market

The Cock & Bull on Grafton St, about 4 blocks north of the CBD, has undergone some major transformations over the past 12 months. As a local I must say that it scrubs up pretty well! It's design is based on that of a traditional English style pub, with beer by the pint, and standard fare such as bangers n mash, shepherds pie etc. available as counter meals. I'd recommend trying the Kangaroo steak from the Carnivores Restaurant (inside Cock & Bull) but make sure you order it medium rare or rare, as it tends to get a bit tough. Kangaroo is higher in protein and a lot lower in fat than beef, and it tastes great too! There's several indoor dining areas and an outdoor dining area to choose from. When you're done eating, have a spin on the "pokies" ;)
