BAD NEWS....Closed. Might have to find another favourite.
Possibly business dropped after Cyclone Yasi. 2011
"The managing Director Kevin Collins said to keep it open would have crippled his other Fish D'Divine operations in Airlie Beach and Mackay." from tropicrd in Cairns......
By the fifth and last night of our stay in Cairns the staff of fish D'vine did not want to see us leave Cairns. We were regulars. We did not try the rum though. But they sure did have a wild selection of rum as well as fish.
After you are seated look at the menu and then make your way to the display cabinet where you can view the offerings.
I took a liking to the whitebait fritters for entree.
You will find more of these great little eating places in Airlie Beach and Mackay.
Favorite Dish: Our favourite dish which we ordered twice was :
Grilled Wild Barramundi on steamed bok choy with macadamia nut pesto and sweet potato chips.
This cost $25.90 in 2010 and was worth every penny.

We really loved this little cafe which was right next to our hotel. We found a couch...we love to sit on a couch to enjoy our coffee..
The Sweet Bistrot is open : Mon to Friday 7am to 2.30pm
Saturday 7am to 11.30am.
Closed Sunday and public holidays.
It better still be there when we go back
Favorite Dish: Well there is some yummy homemade food...and the biscuits are not too sweet. The first day we had a lovely fresh salad sandwich for lunch.
We even had breakfast there a couple of times.

Went with 10 friends for a birthday celebration, partner ordered the "signature" dish which was supposed to be seafood pasta, dish presented was 95% spaghetti with a couple of skinny crab legs and some shell fish which were so overcooked that the meat inside was shriveled up to almost nothing, pasta dish ordered by myself was entree size at best and for the $25 charged a complete rip off, waiter had an issue with supplying us with cold drinking water was told that they had a shortage of bottles and couldn't supply us with water until some became available, PLEASE! the restaurant was only half full. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned cash at another Italian restaurant in Cairns

We always come here to celebrate special occasions and have never been disappointed.
The food is always fresh and beautifully cooked, the service is excellent without being intrusive.
The wine list is very good.
It is only a small restaurant but this makes it intimate for those who wish to be romantic or you can have a veranda table which has wet weather blinds to protect you whilst you are eating. The tables are well set with simple yet elegant crockery and wine glasses on white table cloths. The white crockery displays the food perfectly.
The restaurant is off the main tourist area which makes it an ideal place for locals to bring their guests.
Favorite Dish: I have tried most of the dishes at C'est Bon and have liked them all,so am unable to choose a favourite.

Mondos is a great place to meet up with friends for lunch or dinner.
It has an ambience that is hard to beat because it is right on the boardwalk with water views on Trinity Inlet and across to the unpoilt slopes of East Trinity.
You can sit under the raintrees and umbrellas and enjoy the water side breeze as you enjoy the freshly cooked food and a cold drink (you can also have freshly brewed coffee and tea if you wish) it is basically outdoor dining but they do have tables undercover if necessary.
Favorite Dish: I have had many dishes at Mondos so am unable to pick a favourite, the seafood is popular with most people because it is local and fresh off the boats. But I loved the thick juicy steaks and the apple pir to die for. They change their menu so you may not get the same as this, you won't be disappointed with any of the food. It's really great.

An old pub dining room with character.
The food is good homecooked style pub food and plenty of it to fill a hungry man or woman.
It is nor silver service and the locals don't want it to change and I agree with them because the food was really cooked well, fresh and plentiful.
You can also order from the bar and enjoy your meal there,in the dining room or outside. It's up to you.
Meals are served from 12 to 2pm and 5.30 to 8pm.
Remember this is a pub nor a restaurant.
Favorite Dish: The $10 steaks were great and what a bargain..I asked for rare and I got it.

Coast Roast Coffee is a favourite place of ours to stop and have a coffee or a light meal after we do our shopping in the Cairns Central Mall.It is a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike.
Besides the drinks and yummy food you can also purchase paintings by local artists, they are on display throughout the cafe.
Graham the proprietor and the staff will make you very welcome and the service is excellent.
You can sit outside in the tropical courtyard which also has a smokers area.
Or you can sit inside in one of the comfy and private booths or sit at the tables in the main part of the shopping mall.
They have daily newspapers and magazines for you to read while you enjoy a cuppa or one of the the specials of the day.
So if you are in Cairns and wandering around the shopping centre,I recommend stopping at the Coast Roast for morning tea, lunch or arvo tea,it is worth it.
Favorite Dish: The coffee is always great and served in nice big cups (their standard size) not any small, medium or large that other places have.
The raisin toast is toasted to perfection and you get two thick slices (not one thin slice) and served with plenty of butter or margerine if you prefer.
Tea is served in pots with tea leaves.
The daily lunch specials are all good so unable to say what is my favourite--it is all good food whatever you order.

I’m always on the lookout for bargains when it comes to food. Yes and I also want great food and service too – tall order? No, not if you’re prepared to hunt around and maybe dine a bit earlier than normal. Spicy Bite is just off the main restaurant strip of The Esplanade and offers a meal and drink deal of 20% off the food bill IF you are prepared to get the order in for main course before 6.30pm – which we did.
Service was friendly and the Indian food as spicy as you like it all at very reasonable prices, while people watching as you dine on the footpath.
Good value.

Looking for a cheap and cheerful meal? The Cairns Night Market is THE place to head to for a variety of foods at very reasonable prices. There are 11 different individually owned businesses that are all competing for your money. I choose the Chinese and Seafood self service café and I had the X-large plate for $14.50. I then spent 10 minutes very carefully constructing a pyramid of tasty hot food and managed to sneak in a few of the cold options too. Perhaps I suffered from the “my-eyes-were-bigger-than-my-tummy” as I had trouble eating all I had chosen – self inflicted wounds.
I also received a 10% off discount coupon for the next door New Zealand Natural Icecream franchise. So for less than $20 I had a great meal while sitting in the noisy and reasonably clean food court dining area.
After our meal we explored the almost 100 stalls, where plenty of Australian souvenirs, gifts, clothing and much more were available. There was also a wide range of Asian massages.
The Night Market is situated along the very popular The Esplanade and across the road from The Lagoon, which is a man made and safe from crocs and stingers swimming area.
The 4th photo shows a glass artisan creating a work of art for sale - lots more great gift stalls as well.

Ebony & Ivory licensed Restaurant & Bar is right on the O'shea Esplanade at Machans Beach, the first beach north of Cairns and only a 10 minute drive from the airport turn off or 15 minutes from the CBD.
This is a great place to have lunch or dinner with daily blackboard specials and live entertainment on certain nights.
The food is variable but fresh and cooked very nicely.
The views are to die for as you look over the Coral sea and Trinity Inlet.
The evenings are really special because you can watch the moon rise over the water which adds a romantic aspect to your meal.
The decor is rustic so don't expect silver service and during the day dogs are welcome on the veranda if you want to have a laid back lunch or a drink. The owner Christopher Seed and his staff will make you very welcome. Most of the locals eat here and they reckon it is a hidden gem..I agree with them.
Favorite Dish: I am unable to tell you what my favourite dish is because it is all very nice--and fresh.
I have not been disappointed in anything and I do eat here on a regular basis.
