PALM COVE BEACH
Feel like going to the beach but Cairns waterfront doesnt please you!!!Catch a local bus that departs regularly from outside Woolworths in the centre of town..The trip takes about 30 minutes and it is very inexpensive for what it is...This is a local bus that services the beachside communities. The beach at Palm Cove is also the terminus for the bus so you can't get lost..There is a lifeguard always on patrol (in his hut) and there is advice on any nasties such as "stingers" ..reports are written up on a board on the beach advising of water temp and stingers etc..most of the swimming area is netted for swimmers safety...This is a great little beach and community...
Palm Cove was my favorite beach, probably because it was much less crowded than Cairns' other beaches. This is one of the northernmost beaches in the Cairns vicinity, and it is the last northern stop offered by Sunbus. The beach is a very long, white crescent and is bordered by the rainforest. It's a great place to hang out for an afternoon. There are some beaches further north, like Ellis Beach, but you will need your own transportation in order to enjoy them.
Like the other beaches, Palm Cove is occasionally closed due to jellyfish and crocodiles.
This is the street beside the beach in Palm Cove, here is a busstop too from Cairns. It is a little hour by bus from Cairns
A little Beach Place 30 km north from Cairns. A very nice little place with a beautifull sandy beach.
