    Daintree Village by aussirose

by aussirose Updated Oct 10, 2014

Daintree Village is worth a visit either on the way to Cape Tribulation or on the way back.

Try to make it for lunch as the Daintree Village Restaurant is such a nice place for a snack and a beer :o)

If you have time, then you should do a croc spotting river cruise. We really enjoyed that last time we visited.

And pay a visit to Eliza's Gallery. She hand makes all of the little gifts and jewellery and they are not too expensive. That is where we bought Dorrise's card for hosting the 2014 Big Downunder Meet in Cairns - a lovely hand painted flower card.

    Walk amongst the mangroves.

The Dubuji Boardwalk at Myall Beach,Daintree wilderness is very interesting and will educate you about the mangroves and the forest.
It is an easy walk that takes approx 1 hour.
Don't forget to take insect repellant and drinking water, some visitors have been badly bitten because they did not take heed regarding this valuable advice.

My friends sitting on an amazing forest tree. Info map for Dubuji Boardwalk Instant tree.

    Nightwalks

Most Travellers are told to do a nightwalk in Cape Trib, but what most people dont know is that Cape Trib has been farmed & logged over the last 100 years, there are quite a large number of domestic dogs in the area too. If you want to see the true daintree you need to do a nightwalk with coopers creek wilderness. Pru, Neil & Angie are awesom, very eco friendly and know their land well, you have a higher probability of seeing wildlife there than in Cape Trib itself. This photo of a Cassowary was taken by a friend of mine that I took into Cooper Creek.
