Favorite thing: YOU HAVE WRITTEN YOUR POST CARD, AND NOW WANT TO BUY THE STAMP AND POST IT.......

Don't worry, there are a number of Post Offices on the Gold Coast.
They provide more than Stamps these days!
Their range of services includes ....electronic banking and passport interviews, stationery & gifts as well.
Most post offices these days have extensive Post Shops.

A POST OFFICE IS A GOOD SPOT TO BUY SOMETHING AUSTRALIAN, THEY HAVE NICE CALENDARS AND SOFT TOYS.

Post Offices are open from 9.00am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Some are open on a Saturday.
    Australian post boxes are Red.

Fondest memory: For more information...... www.auspost.com.au

    Pacific Fair

Favorite thing: There's a road in Broadbeach. It bisects two of the major attractions in Surfers Paradise. One is the casino, the other is Pacific Fair, the largest shopping centre on the Gold Coast.
With over 300 shops it's a must-see for the women and there's even stuff for people like me. I mean, if you want to buy shoes there's 15 specialty shops in addition to the department stores and, when they wear out, there's 3 shoe repair booths.
19 jewellers stores, 11 comminications shops, 31 fast food outlets and, when you've run out of money, at least 17 places you can draw some more out!
Suffice it to say that the place is popular but, one thing amazes me. I come from a town where we have 24 hour supermarkets. Here, there are none. Unless it's milk or something minor you'll be in trouble after 5.30 except on Thursday nights.

Favorite thing: For Shopping - Pacific Fair at Broadbeach! What nearly every visitor to the Gold Coast doesn't know, is that there is a Tourist Lounge situated on the top floor of the 'Toys 'R'Us' store - next to the entrance. Simply go into there, fill out a form (just stating where you're visiting from), and you'll receive a bag full of discount vouchers and freebies. You can visit: http://www.pacificfair.com.au/

Favorite thing: Visit the Pacific Fair in the morning, Conrad Jupiter Casino in the afternoon, nightclubs at night. Then, you sit on the beach and watch the stars dim and sunrise.

Fondest memory: Sitting on the beach. Gold coast has one of the best beaches around. Beats that place near LA where Bay Watch is shot, by miles.

Favorite thing: We tour the world's biggest and best ginger factory. We learn some of the secrets that make Australian ginger the world's favourite. There was a demonstration where we can watch how the giner is being prepared for shipment around the globe.

THE GINGER FACTORY, there is this thing called Historic Cane Train that we can hop aboard for a ride through the lush native rainforest and landscaped gardens with informative commentary on ginger.

There is also The Ginger Shop where we bought our ginger products such as ginger sweets. I spend alot of time here selecting the sweets because there are so many of them! And of course, there is this place where we enjoyed our cool ice-cream.

Favorite thing: PACIFIC FAIR is an open air and undercover retail delight to satisfy any tourist or shopping lover. There are many major stores and over 260 specialty retailers. In addition there are Banks, Medical Services, a Post Office and Cafes, Bars and Restaurants to please everyone. Children are catered for with a themed children's play park and the disabled can make use of our companion service. Parking is easy with over 5000 free carparks. There are taxi and water taxi services and a Bus Interchange. All this set in a wonderland of leafy walkways and parks with traquil lakes and peaceful streams.
