Shooters and other Surfer's Paradise clubs: Shooters and other Surfer's Paradise clubs

    by lashr1999 Updated Apr 4, 2011

Had a great time in the Shooters Nightclub. After a few drinks tried another club but can't recall the name which was also good. Trying to get a cab at 3AM in the morning you'll have to wait in a long line to get back.

I can't remenber if the pic is from shooters or the second club;)

Surfers Paradise Glitter Strip: Get ur dancing shoes on coz its time to PAR-TAY!!

    by hayley_69 Updated Jan 4, 2011

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The main area to party in the Gold Coast is the colourful glitter strip called Surfers Paradise with its fair share of pubs, bars and nightclubs, you will manage to find a spot you like.

Surfers Paradise has music and bars for everyone, from Irish pubs, to heavy metal night clubs, to R&B, to modern nightclubs.

Opening hours for most night clubs and bars are Monday - Sunday from around 9:00pm till 5:00am, with the nightclubs having a lock down time at 3:00am, which means if your not in a nightclub by 3:00am then you cant get into any nightclub.

Surfers Paradise clubs and bars are for any age from young to old

Dress Code: There are no dress codes in Surfers Paradise nightclubs and pubs, but just dress wise when its winter or summer remember winter is cold dont wear summer clothes, and summer is hot so dont wear winter clothes.

In the winter does get hot inside the nightclubs, but the moment you step outside you will be cold. Take it from experience hahahaha!!!

  • Venues: Live Bands !

by grantravel Updated Aug 27, 2009

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The best venues you can catch some local or touring bands at are The Coolangatta Hotel, Hard Rock Cafe and Waxy's Irish Pub in Surfers Paradise, The Soundlounge in Currumbin, Brannigans Tavern in Broadbeach.

If you really want to see some good live music your best bet would be to pick up the local street press from a music store and see what's happening.

There are plenty of places!: You really don't need this help

by tiabunna Updated Mar 19, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Hey, if you can’t find some nightlife on the Gold Coast, it means you’ve fallen asleep over dinner! This place is all about ensuring that the hordes of tourists have plenty of entertainment to keep them amused, throats suitably lubricated, and money flowing freely. There are special buses between various nightspots etc, though you’ll have to ask at the tourist office for all the details – there are too many commercially organised ‘entertainments’ for me to list here!

Depending on your interests and pocket, there is a casino which features lavish stage shows at Broadbeach (between Nobby’s Beach and Surfers’ Paradise); at the other end of the scale there are endless bars for backpackers to let off steam with various forms of entertainment available in many. I have also given two websites below which list other events and entertainments available at various times of the year. But as I said at the start, there is no excuse for boredom!

VeryGoldCoast is the official Gold Coast tourism site, covering most topics you’re likely to need to know about, from events, attractions and tours to accommodation. You might also find it useful to look up TotalTravel which lists more places and doings than you can shake a stick at!

Free things to do at Night

    by Beach_Girl_Aust Written Mar 4, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There is LOTS of free entertainment nearly every night on the main beach. Friday nights they have a free out door cinema on the beach. And Wednesday and Friday nights there are markets on (but mostly just tourist items).

Then in the actual Mall itself, there are lots of street performers and live music :)

    Dress Code: ANYTHING!!!! :)

mostly casual, even just stay in your bikini's :)

Broadbeach: Head down to the beach as night falls

by TheBlueSpeck Written Feb 19, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The soft white sands of the gold coast beaches are the perfect place to watch night descend. Being on the eastern side of the continent you won't see the sun sinking into the ocean, but the sunsets can still be gorgeous.

This shot was taken at Broadbeach (Feb 2006), which is a great place to take an early picnic dinner and enjoy the cool respite of evening. Broadbeach is floodlit and frequented by tourists until quite late into the night.

  • Gold Coast Pubs !

by grantravel Updated Jan 7, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Gold Coast pubs are not particularly charming, classy or ancient, but like anywhere in the world which has a local population who like to drink, if you're a visitor who enjoys a cold beer and aren't too obnoxious you'll fit in just fine.

There are over 100 pubs on the Coast and most of them offer a good range of drinks, decent counter meals at decent prices and more pokie machines than you can throw a two dollar coin at. Contrary to popular belief, most Queenslanders (at least South East Queenslanders) don't always drink XXXX, and because of the Gold Coast's proximity to the NSW border and its large population of interstate arrivals, you can get pretty much whatever beer you want. And there are no territorial beers which you aren't allowed to order for fear of breaking the local alcohol code of ethics.

Beer language on the Gold Coast: almost every state in Australia has a different terminology for the different sizes of beer. On the Gold Coast the following standards apply:
    Pot - 285ml (10 ounces)
    Schooner 425ml – (15 ounces)
    Jug - 1125ml (40 ounces)

    XXXX Beer

Surfer's Paradise Beach: Take a Moonlit Walk

by ATXtraveler Written Jul 12, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing beach communities in Australia, and with all of the people populating this hot spot for vacation or relocation, there are many activities you can do. One of those is to take a walk, or even jog out on the beach. Surfer's Paradise is a popular stretch of beach for such activities, and in general it is very safe.

Even in the dead of winter, Sarah and I felt perfectly comfortable walking along the beach, although I did not bring my sandals, so I ended up with a bit of sand in my socks!

  • My Favourite Pubs !

by grantravel Updated Feb 3, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

My personal favourite pubs on the Gold Coast are:

    Parkwood Tavern
Cnr Olsen Ave & Wintergreen Drive, Parkwood Ph:55715104
One of the most popular pubs for the locals. You might be lucky enough to see one of Australia's legendary rock acts like The Screaming Jets or even popular new comers The Butterfly Effect who have both played there frequently over the past few years.

    Surfers Paradise Beer Garden
Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise. This is the place all the cool touring musicians (Jack Johnson, Michael Franti) come to do secret gigs. Quite a large pub with plenty of pool tables and balcony space to watch the goings on in the centre of Surfers.

    Fisherman's Wharf
Shop 20 Mariner's Cove, 60-70 Seaworld Drv Main Beach Ph:55710566
Probably one the best located pubs in the world, the current Fisherman's Wharf is a re-incarnation of the old pub, a Gold Coast icon which was demolished to make way for Palazzo Versace, Nirvana played there once.

    The Grand Hotel
    352 Marine Parade, Labrador
The Grand Hotel shares the same building as the Grand Apartments. It offers patrons access to 4 restaurants, entertainment, a tavern, cafes and water views across the Broadwater.

  • Surfers Paradise: Nightclubs !

by grantravel Updated Feb 2, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Love it or loathe it, the commercialisation of the Gold Coast tourism industry has provided the area with one of the best ranges of entertainment options in the world. By day there are any number of touristy things to spend your time on, but as the sun sets, the thriving nightclub industry comes alive.

If you're looking for something to do on the Gold Coast after the suns gone down head to Surfers Paradise for a night out until the sun comes back up.

Club styles vary from Top 40 dance hits and alternative rock to modern house and acid jazz. Whatever your taste and budget you shouldd be able to find a club you like. The clubs are all very close togther, so you don't have to walk to far to the next one, if your ears don't like what there hearing.

Clubs are packed with tourists during peak holiday seasons, schoolies week and the Indy Carnival, but you'll find the crowd is generally made up of partying locals 365 days a year.

Drinks are reasonably cheap compared to big city prices and you shouldn't really expect to pay much more than $5.00 for your average beer or spirit.

    Dress Code: Club Wear.

Shooters, Melbas, The Drink and others: 3 am Nightclub lock out

by goldcoaster Updated Sep 5, 2004

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

In the last council elections here, in an attempt to make the old people feel safe about all the nightclubs in town, the local council tried to make clubs shut 2 hours earlier. What has basically happened is that we now have a 3am lock out.

While the clubs still close at 5am, you have to be inside by 3am or you get locked out. For many who don't even go out until midnight it is a bit of a pain. So make sure you do your rounds early and find out which club you like the best then head back to it before 3am!

Oddly, they still allowed the casino which is frequented by rich old farts to stay open 24/7. I love a democratic society.

Ripley's Believe it Or Not Musuem: Strolling around the town

    by sweetie_inc Written Sep 3, 2004

Most of the shopping malls here close at around 6pm (Australia time)... But those small shops are open till about 10pm... Food outlets such as McDonald's and Burger King are open till late too...

Not much activity at nite.. maybe some pubs and places like Ripley's are open....

It's quite quiet at night so dun expect much activities going on....

For those who gamble, you can go to their casino...

Mermaids Restaurant Bar On The Beach: The Best View On The Gold Coast

Sitting outside on the veranda of this restaurant on a warm balmy night with friends enjoying a view of the whole Gold Coast, eating fresh fish along with a gorgeuous bottle of wine has to be one of my nicest memories of this place.

This place has got to be one of the nicest restaurants I went to on the Gold Coast.

The views were to die for you can see the whole sweep of the coast and to be here just as the sun is going down is FANTASTIC.!!

    Starters around $6-8, mains around $10 - 18

This place also does fantastic breakfast !!! if you have been out on the town !! Or perfect for brunch !!

A new bar in the area to check out is the swinging safaris it is like no other bar you have ever been to...don't miss out on surfers night life..

Dress Code: You aren't allowed to wear thongs however if your a chick you can get away with anything...they prefer you to be dressy but most importantly...dress to impress...yourself
