Tropical Fruit World
Sample an abundance of tropical fruits grown on the premises, take a tour or walk through the gardens, try an assortment of locally grown and made food, and leave with a whole lot of gifts.
I recommend trying the Miracle Fruit (after disolving it in your mouth, anything sour becomes sweet when you taste it), Champagne Fruit, Black Sapote (Chocolate Pudding), Jack Fruit, and Lemon Myrtle.
The Honda Indy 300! This is a pic of Miss Indy 2001 - just for the guys :P
The atmosphere on the Gold Coast certainly gets 'charged up' every October. If you have the chance to be there during the Indy you'll have an experience like no other!
Tim gets an apartment at the Sun City resort each year through his work, and the things I've seen from up there - I could never put on this page! People seem to forget that everyone can see them, inhibitions are gone and the alchohol certainly plays a major part of the week. If you want to stay on the Gold Coast at this time of the year - be warned - book well ahead or you'll find yourself sleeping in a park. For those of you who unfortunately work in this area - I can totally sympathise with the traffic during the Indy :(
Just North of Brisbane is the start of the beautiful world of the SUNSHINE COAST which is just one hour away from Brisbane City.
The Sunshine Coast is now being discovered by holidaymakers the world over, as they flock to enjoy some of Australia's best beaches, as well as the GlassHouse Mountains, the Blackall and Conondale Ranges, and the resort towns such as Caloundra, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Coolum and Noosa.
The Sunshine Coast stretches from Caloundra in the south to Rainbow Beach in the north, an area of approximately 3,200 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 260,000 residents.
If you're into fishing, the Gold Coast offers numerous opportunities. To pick the best spot, check out http://www.coastalwatch.com/
Visit Byron Bay. From the Lighthouse we saw a pod of Dolphins swimming in the surf below us and out to sea a Humpback Whale migrating South.
