Carrara Markets have 500 market stalls that sell everything from brand new to second hand.
These are permanent markets and a lot are under-cover.
Living here and going to these markets, I really don't find them much! I find these days, they are full of cheap and a lot of items come from Asia. Australian souvenirs being sold are not Australian made, these come from Asia.
There is clothing, I guess not badly priced, shoes, caps that can have your name put onto them, pots & plants, crafts, really all the market type gear you can think of. The only item I saw I thought was really good were paintings done by a local Artist, these were excellent.
Meals here were reasonable. We had the all day breakfast for lunch, cost $6.50 and was good.
Probably if you don't live here, and are on your first visit, you will like it.
There is FREE PARKING for 4000 cars.
NO CAR - NOT A PROBLEM, for a small fee, you can catch the Carrara Markets Bus.
It operates every weekend and services locations throughout Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach!
Simply look for the bus stop closest to you and check the bus timetable for weekend pickup and return times. Remember to hail the Driver! [see website]
Look for the ConXion bus coach marked with the signs CARRARA MARKETS.

Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets
Gold Coast is not only about theme parks. It is also famed for its night market. Every Wednesday and Friday, stallholders will bring out their wares to wow the crowd. There are magicians to singers and even artists.
Located near the beach and a string of shopping malls, you can really stroll along and enjoy what the more than 100 stalls have to offer.
As for my family, we could not have left te place without buying anythng right? My children was pestering my wife and I for a toy and a sponge lizard caught they eyes. So we bought them each a sponge lizard.
They are opened from 4.00pm to 9.00pm.
Harbor Town is HUGE. I had to keep referring to a map of the layout just to know where I was. If you are looking for a good deal on anything and everything under the sun then you are bound to find it here.
Pacific Fair is the biggest shopping complex I have ever seen!
There is a bus terminal at the enterance of the shops and it is really busy. You can pretty much get there form anywhere around or in Surfers Paradise.
A lot of the shops are outdoors but there is also a rather large section under cover.
It takes quite a while to get around to all the shops and in the center of the complex there is a big area for kids with a few rides and a pond with a cool characters in it like a big blue whale.
If you're a shopping buff this is the place to go.
Life in the rich lane
It never ceases to amaze me. The Atherton Tablelands, over 2,000 kilometres away up north, are listed by VT as a "Things to do" title. Obviously they're catering for those with private Lear jets.
In the same vein, though considerably closer, is Versace Palazzo, adjacent to which is a small shopping centre in the same vein. The sort of places that don't bother to display prices.
In other words, not where you're bound to find backpackers.
There's also a bridge across the road that leads to the Sheraton Mirage Resort, not quite as good as Versace but up there nonetheless.

Pacific Fair is just south of Surfers. You can catch a bus there. Surfers has cheap gift shopping and surf wear shopping but if you want to do some serious shopping, go to Pacific Fair and get lost in the tons of shops :o) A must on your holiday!!!!%*
Pacific fair, harbour town, Australia Fair
The shopping was great! Pacific fair, harbour town, Australia Fair and the carrara Markets were awesome.
The best has to be Harbour town, its an outlet mall,. There are loads of shops, and places to eat. You can spend the entire day there. We caught the bus in the morning and then again back to Surfers

The Marina Mirage
The Marina Mirage complex is just across the road from the Sheraton Mirage and a stone’s throw from Sea World tourist park. It, has a large aviary full of brightly coloured tropical birds. Shopping is great and there are plenty of eateries as well.
SHOPPING! Yes, I can think...
Yes, I can think of no other better place to shop than right here on SURFER'S PARADISE - the HEART of Gold Coast.
Here I am standing just outside my favorite shopping complex - the RAPTIS PLAZA. There are lots to see and do here. A fake replica of the 'David' statue can also be found inside. Many shops also stock reasonably priced clothes...
You'd also notice that most people walking around this area are VERY casually dressed. Guys can be spotted walking around bare chested, wearing only a pair of shorts. The sexy Aussie gals walk around in bikini tops. You'd definitely feeeel at home here.
Krystynn's Things to Do Tip
Check out this coooool fake replica of the Statue of David... here at RAPTIS PLAZA (the original can be found in Florence, Italy). Impressive, isn't it? Yeah, I thought so too.
Australia Fair is on the Southport side of the Broadwater and also has a multi-screen cinema complex.
Pacific Fair is around the corner from Conrad Jupiters Hotel-Casino and is Queenslands largest shopping centre.
