Harbor Town is HUGE. I had to keep referring to a map of the layout just to know where I was. If you are looking for a good deal on anything and everything under the sun then you are bound to find it here.

Pacific Fair is the biggest shopping complex I have ever seen!
There is a bus terminal at the enterance of the shops and it is really busy. You can pretty much get there form anywhere around or in Surfers Paradise.
A lot of the shops are outdoors but there is also a rather large section under cover.
It takes quite a while to get around to all the shops and in the center of the complex there is a big area for kids with a few rides and a pond with a cool characters in it like a big blue whale.
If you're a shopping buff this is the place to go.

It never ceases to amaze me. The Atherton Tablelands, over 2,000 kilometres away up north, are listed by VT as a "Things to do" title. Obviously they're catering for those with private Lear jets.
In the same vein, though considerably closer, is Versace Palazzo, adjacent to which is a small shopping centre in the same vein. The sort of places that don't bother to display prices.
In other words, not where you're bound to find backpackers.
There's also a bridge across the road that leads to the Sheraton Mirage Resort, not quite as good as Versace but up there nonetheless.

Pacific Fair is just south of Surfers. You can catch a bus there. Surfers has cheap gift shopping and surf wear shopping but if you want to do some serious shopping, go to Pacific Fair and get lost in the tons of shops :o) A must on your holiday!!!!%*

The shopping was great! Pacific fair, harbour town, Australia Fair and the carrara Markets were awesome.
The best has to be Harbour town, its an outlet mall,. There are loads of shops, and places to eat. You can spend the entire day there. We caught the bus in the morning and then again back to Surfers

Some of the markets are as follows:- Surfers Paradise beachfront - every Friday evening; Broadbeach - first and third Sunday; Burleigh - last Sunday; Coolangatta - every second Sunday; Robina Town Centre - every Saturday.
Tamborine Mountain - second Sunday of the month; Canungra country market - first Sunday; Paradise Point Art and Craft Market - fourth Sunday.
The original and biggest market on the Gold Coast is held each weekend at Carrara. Open Saturdays and Sundays 6 am to 5pm.

Marina Mirage is a lovely place to spend a Sunday. There are heaps of restaurants and shops and they have outdoor entertainment and a park for the kids. You can do all this while watching the water activities.*

The Marina Mirage complex is just across the road from the Sheraton Mirage and a stone’s throw from Sea World tourist park. It, has a large aviary full of brightly coloured tropical birds. Shopping is great and there are plenty of eateries as well.

SHOPPING!
Yes, I can think of no other better place to shop than right here on SURFER'S PARADISE - the HEART of Gold Coast.
Here I am standing just outside my favorite shopping complex - the RAPTIS PLAZA. There are lots to see and do here. A fake replica of the 'David' statue can also be found inside. Many shops also stock reasonably priced clothes...
You'd also notice that most people walking around this area are VERY casually dressed. Guys can be spotted walking around bare chested, wearing only a pair of shorts. The sexy Aussie gals walk around in bikini tops. You'd definitely feeeel at home here.
