    The food was great really good dinner range, though the service was not all that great it took awhile for us to get our drinks when they were orded, but besides that its a great place.

  • If your staying at the resort, the buffet lunch is good value and varies from day to day. The restaurant itself has a good beach view especially from the balcony. If eating on the balcony, don't leave food unattended, the birds will take it if given a chance.

    A look at the brochures for teh resort suggests that there is a range of dining options to suit any taste and price range. Unfortunately when we went we found this not to be the case. I muct note that we did not visit the island in the middle of winter, mid-week or anything like that either. Basically, the Reff takeaway was only open at lunchtime and the sunset bar had a small range of sanwiches and salads...this left the only place for dinner as Keppels Restaurant.

    It is a buffet-style affair, with a theme each night (although the themes are pretty loose - so don't go getting all dressed up in costume or anything!!) It was quite pricey, with a dinner costing something like $28 for an adult.

    One of the nights we decided that we would go for a wander to see if we could find other places off the resort. We found the pizza restaurant a few doors down and it looked good but when we returned at night it was all closed. The other resort, Keppel Haven proved just as troublesome. the night we went (we later found out from some staff at that reort) half the staff had walked off the job and that left the poor girls at reception to play chef as well!

    So the short of it is....don't believe the brochures about variety in dining and factor fairly expensive buffet meals into your budget especially if you are trying to keep tabs on your holiday costs - it can certainly add-up!
