RSL Clubs around Australia offer good meals, and the Gympie one was no exception!
For us, this was another return visit.
We came for Sunday lunch and were surprised to find it fairly empty, perhaps later, more people would come. We were given a Menu and could also choose from the Blackboard.
Both of us chose Roast Lamb, and a good option, was the choice of a small or large serving, and idea I really like, as I hate waste!
A small & large meal was ordered, and it wasn't very long, and our meal was served, along with a hot bread roll.
Roast Lamb, mint jelly, Potato, Broccoli, Pumpkin, Carrots, Sweetcorn and Zuchuni...............this was nice, and the Lamb just melted our mouth's.
Cost in 2010 was $11 small meal and $14 large meal
We will return again!

We were expecting a little cafe selling cans of drink and chips but were pleasantly surprised by all the home made sweets, pies and sausage rolls as well as many choices of drinks and some pre packaged foods.
We could buy virtually anything we desired for the trip on the train and the stop at the other end. The service was very friendly and the setting was in keeping with the old fashioned railway theme.
For the bigger eaters (and drinkers) there was a beautifully done up hotel just across the road which we may have tested if not for the younger members of our party.
Favorite Dish: We had these gorgeous homemade breakfast pie (it was 8.30am). Just delicious.

An unexpected delight, especially at a roadhouse. The setting, food and service would be something you'd expect from a city cafe strip.
A warm, upmarket cosmo feel to this place. You can sit at the cafe style chairs out the front, inside or under the pergola in a mini rainforest setting.
The coffee is spot on, no matter what you order and their milkshakes are a perfect blend of flavours without that sinking, sickly sweet taste.
Their serving sizes leave you gasping. All I can say is that you'd better have a big appetite before coming here else you'll have no chance of finishing your meal.
I reckon that Australia wide, I've never come across better value for money in terms of quality, taste and serving size.
Favorite Dish: The nachos are incredible. Fresh crispy corn chips with a salsa that almost demands you get the recipe for it.
Hope you're hungry cause they literally bring out a mountain of them for you to wade your way through!
