Greyhound to Mackay

Mackay lies on the Greyhound route from Cairns to Brisbane or vice versa. It is about two hours to go to Airlie Beach (25 - 37AUD), five hours to Rockhampton (35 - 45AUD) and nine and a half hours to Bundaberg (around 140AUD). I came here from Airlie Beach and as the bus station is a little outside of the city, staff of the hostel picked me up. When I left Mackay, I went even further than the places mentioned above, I took the Greyhound until Noosa which was fourteen hours, but as I took it in the evening and arrived the next morning, I just slept throughout the whole drive.

We flew with Australian budget airline Virgin Blue (tip: smuggle yourself a snack onboard because you don't get any food provided) and here is the nice view we got, flying into Mackay.
The airport doesn't look huge, and you just step out of the plane onto the tarmac, but when you reach the town itself, it's rather surprisingly large
