Favorite thing: when taking the barge across to the island
i found , to help keep from feeling the effects of sea sickness... i sat at the top of the barge, where i could see a lot more....
if i was in the car i would feel sick.

Fondest memory: One of my favourite memories of Magnetic Island is getting up at 6 am in the morning (and I never get up early!!) when there was almost nobody about at all, and taking the 3 min walk to the beach at Picnic Bay, walking out along the pier and watching the tropical fish swimming below in the clear green water, and then taking a short walk on the beach, watching the sun rise behind one of the hills and light up the palm trees.

Favorite thing: Things may have changed, but when I was there last the bus that goes around the island only goes in one direction. That means that if you start your day at one of the first bays (stops) and you're ready to go home and hop back on the bus, you have to ride the whole route back to the dock. The bus isn't too bad for sight seeing though, the plastic windows roll up on nice days.
