Favorite thing: Taking a walk in the Melaney rainforest was so beautiful.
Whatever you do in the hinterland do this.It is really a fairyland when you reach the sunken garden and go though the bamboo forest.
You will love it.
Fondest memory: I treasure the beautiful time I had with my family in Melaney and all through the hinterland.
It is a special place to visit and so peaceful.

Favorite thing: Tibouchinas, [ lasiandras,] are a shrub that you will see in the months of March / April, covered in a mass of Purple flowers. It is a native to south-east Brazil, where people use the massed purple blooms to decorate churches at Easter time.
Tibouchina 'Alstonville', is probably the best of the larger growing kinds, being bred at Alstonville in New South Wales. Tibouchina 'Jules', is a dwarf variety. There also is a nice one covered in pink flowers.
These were magnificent in Maleny, Montville and areas.
