    As you drive through the district you will see various crops under cultivation, pineapples grow well in Queensland and if you get the chance you should buy a fresh pineapple, they taste far better than those from the supermarket.

    On our visit to the Glass House Mountains National Park we took a picnic lunch with us as no shops are allowed in national parks. The picnic area we stopped had excellent facilities, toilets, tables and seats, plenty of trees providing shaded areas and electric BBQ.
    Please remember to take your rubbish away with you as national parks are a non rubbish area and do not provide bins. Dogs are not allowed in national parks.

    The many State and National parks in the area have many walking and hiking trails, all graded so there is the right one for you. Take a 20 minute trail through the natural forest, enjoy the wildlife, the flowers and most of all the peace of being with nature.
    Some precautions: take water with you as it can get warm, do not venture off the trail and you will be safe, lock your car and do not leave valuables on the car seat. It is best to walk or hike with another person.

    Whilst enjoying our picnic we were joined by the local Kookaburras and Magpies. One Kookaburra swooped down and took a biscuit our of my wife's hand as she was putting it in her mouth, not a mark on her hand or face.
