Maroochydore Nightlife

Well around the Coast the young people say there is nothing for them(2009). A picture in the local rag said "all dressed up and nowhere to go"
There are nightclubs around Mooloolaba which are well patrolled by security and O'Malley's Irish pub. Not my cup of tea once the disco starts.

Caloundra RSL attracts quite a few and as the night gets later the young ones roll in.Week ends the music is more often disco especially after 9pm. There is an odd shaped dance floor and food is available till later on. Our RSLs (Returned Sevicemen Clubs) are much more active than in some areas.

There are also RSLs at Nambour, Maroochydore , and Tewantin that I know about. Open every day and night. Some of the pubs, Duporth Tavern for example,have music at weekends.

But unlike some other places in the world ,in general, outwardly, things go quiet fairly early in the night. Restaurant kitchens close early.

Sometimes there are general dances and you can find out about these on the Brisbane based website . There are of course functions to raise money for charity etc on regularly but not much fun for a tourist.

Dress Code: Usually collared shirt and no jeans or sneakers after 6pm for the RSL.
