Simply Sandwiches: Food for a budget

I was looking for a place where I could have a small meal for a smaller price, as I did not feel like eating in one of the more expensive eating places. So I found Simply Sandwiches, a smaller eatery with, as the name says, simple kind of things: Sandwiches, small cakes and the like.
I had a small chocolate cake and a cup of tea and quite enjoyed it, as it was possible to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.
I think that if you are looking for something affordable and non-fancy, this is a good place to go!

Open from 10.00am to 04.00pm daily.

NORTH TAMBORINE BAKERY: Nice Bakery

Woodfired Bakery @ North Tamborine

On our day visit to Tamborine Mountain, we just didn't feel like bothering packing a picnic basket for lunch..

We headed to North Tamborine where there is a good selection of shops, drove up the divided street, and found the Oven Fired Bakery.
We bought a couple of Vegetable pasties, and a couple of Cinnamon scrolls, I can say that all were very nice!

The expensive part was buying a can of Coke from here, double the usual cost....It cost $2.30 which is disgustingly expensive, so I would not buy another drink from here.

There are picnic tables and seats just across the road, or you can follow the road to the end to sit and enjoy your lunch at the Knoll lookout.

THE BEARDED DRAGON TAVERN: AT THE BASE OF TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN

The Bearded Dragon Tavern

The Bearded Dragon Tavern is located in an excellent location at the base of Tamborine Mountain.

It is very popular on the weekends, as it is enroute to the Mountain.
I have enjoyed meals here on more than one occasion, and so far no complaints.
As the meals vary in price from traditional pub food ($6.50-$20.50AUD) ....to A la Carte Dinner menu ($15-$30AUD) I found there was something for everyone.

If you wish to have breakfast, then this is possible, it's served from 7.30am-10am

All day Casual Dining Menu plus Blackboard options served 10am-6.30pm
Kids Menu 10am-8p
A la Carte Dinner Menu 5.30pm - 8pm or later for bookings

There is a good choice of meals, seafood, steaks, chefs blackboard specialties, light meals, just desserts and espresso coffee selection.

The added plus is, on the weekends a Band is playing for FREE!

Dining can be either inside or under the outside covered area which is located in a nice setting.

Not only can you go here for wine tasting but also an enjoyable meal.

Favorite Dish: We had a pie. Expensive but nice.I say expensive because we paid $7.00 for one. mind you they do boast that they have the best pies on the coast.
