    I must make a shamefaced confession: although I’m happy to be a tourist, I’m really no shopper. Maybe you are. I suspect about half the world falls into the “shopper” category, the rest are “non-shoppers” – with the division broadly defined by gender. An exception: interesting food will always tempt me.

    The people in Granny Macs Store had just the bait for me, a choice of macadamia nut specialties. Macadamia nuts were originally native to the forests of this region and, in my childhood were usually known as Queensland Nuts when they grew in the back yard. Either way, the thought of a pack of fresh nuts spiced with wasabi was too much to resist. They were fresh, tangy and generally excellent, if not inexpensive.

    In the Australian context, $7.70 for 180gm of nuts is not cheap - but they were good enough to represent good value.

    Like all shops on th emountain this is also a craft shop. The thing is that each little shop has their speciality and for this one it was like stepping back in time to a time when you could get your lavender bags to hang in the wardrobe or other things from the era.

    This is the shop you go to when you are looking for ceramics , pottery or the likes.

    The local craft is very good , but expect to pay a little extra.

    this shop would be any little girls delight. it was full of fairies things from little dressese, wings and even the fairies themselves. When I tried to take a photo of the interior the little fairies kept pushing me so I couldnt get a clear photo. sorry about that...

    Do you like watching time go by? Then this is the shop you want. It has so many clocks it would be hard to loose time .If you love clocks you will love this shop.when you walk in you hear the clocks ticking away and on the hour you get the pleasure of hearing numourous chimes, dongs and "cuckoo" going off.
    To any clock lover it would be music to their ears

    clocks, dolls, wooden toys,

    They arent cheap

    For those with a sweet tooth enter this shop and feel your mouth water. They had so many varieties of fudge it was hard to decide which ones to get. BUT you can try any ones you like before you buy.which of course makes it even harder to decide. I took a photo of the guy who served us.and then asked him if it was ok if I put it on my website.he was so excited he gave me two little chocolates for free.

    all sorts of sweets, fudge, nuts, souvenirs. And when you get sick of looking sit for a nice cup of coffee.

    I paid $2.50 for 100gram of Fudge. a little dear but hey it was nice.

    I got a lot of pleasure browsing in this shop. It offered a lot of craft goods such as patch work quilts hand made teddy bears, dolls. Home made jams in many varieties could be bought It had a real country feel to it.

    Anything crafty for the home

    Depends really on how mauch you want to spend. :)
