Nambour Things to Do
If you are staying in Nambour it is very easy for you to drive up to Mapleton and enjoy the stunning views. There is a great little pub on the corner of Obi Obi Road and the Mapleton Flaxton Road...oh well it is actually called a' tavern' these days.Meals are fine...for a pub...little bit greasy spoon. But you can buy a Guinness to wash it all down...more

Nambour, Queensland. You will find this quaint spot on your way to the swimming pool. Some trees and greenery line Petrie Creek making a nice place for a picnic. As lover of Indian food I find the food here to be excellent. It is all very tasty and the hot is HOT! The menu has lots of variety and the prices are most reasonable. The servings are generous. There is a very busy takeaway section. The ambience is somewhat spoilt by the steady stream of 'takeaway' customers but this has no impact on the service...more

Nambour RSL: Open every night
Well Nambour is not really 'alive' at night... sometimes there is a concert at The Civic Centre and maybe there are wild parties in private homes but on the whole the RSL is your best bet.
There are restaurants and a coffee bar as well as entertainment some nights. The 'pokies' in other words slot machines are available from 10 am till maybe 11pm. Of course there is a bar area and lounge and a separate sports bar and TAB.
Nambour RSL provide a courtesy bus for members.
This club to my mind is the nicest on the Sunshine Coast. The decor is very attractive, the staff are pleasant, and the food of good standard. It is not over crowded except on special occasions.
You might have to stand in a queue to order your meal...that is the only drawback.
Alert Now there is an Italian style food option eatery just as you enter the club on the right at the stairs. You order at the counter and your meal in then served. I like sitting in the cubicles and this is a good place to wait while your companions 'have a flutter', in other words, gamble. You can then order coffee and a cookie or something sweeter. You can read or listen to the music.
Now there is free wi fi or so the sign says!
Dress Code: After 6pm...when the ode is played dress code is enforced. No jeans or work boots and a shirt with a collar. And some clubs have now added something for the girls...skirts may not be too short nor may clothing be provocative.Related to:

Nambour Tourist Traps
Big Pineapple...just a little bit open
You have all heard of this iconic attraction...but just for the moment hold your horses....we have heard it is to be reopened....so here's hoping....well in 2012 it is a little bit open.......
The Farmers Market on Saturday just reopened (Nov 2011) so that is a start
Now in 2012 a Sunday Market is in progress
2013....The BIG Pineapple had one hell of a day....full to overflowing thanks to a special old and antique car week......so maybe the future is bright.
Someone told me there is more activity as well......
Unique Suggestions: There is even a chance you might pick up a coffee during the week but if not keep driving into Nambour for a coffee....Try Husk and Honey

Fun Alternatives: There are other things to do around this way...visit the little towns of Palmwoods and Woombye or you can slip over to Bli Bli and the castle. Otherwise take the road uphill from Nambour (past the hospital) and you can drive between Montville and Mapleton and enjoy the stunning views. There is a short cut up to the Range behind Woombye but I dare you to find it!
A great alternative would be to buy and read the book "Our Sweetest Icon" by Kerry Brown
