Noosa is not known for it's nightlife - there are a few funky bars (usually a little expensive) one niteclub, the surf club, bowls club an Irish Pub and the Koala Bar. (Plus the thousands of resturants mostly aimed at the upper class tourists) Koalas is a backpacker hostel with a bar attatched. It's great for meeting people from all over the world and has a friendly, laid back multi cultural atmosphere. Every wednesday night and on some Sundays there are live bands/acts which are usually of a pretty high standard. Its quite small and has only one pool table, but when it comes to cheap jugs of beer and spirits (happy hour 7pm - 8pm), great people and great music, Koalas is probably the best place to go - for travellers and locals alike. They also serve great cheap meals from around 5:30 to 8pm. Although I've never stayed there, they have dormitory accommodation from around $AUS20 / night. Pretty standard to good. Internet access also available. Really the best place to check out for backpackers heading to noosa.
Dress Code: No rubber thongs. Otherwise pretty much anything you want. It is a youth hostel though so most dress pretty casual.
