Fluid Nightclub: The High Nightlife

A Fluid Entrance

This is the only place in PD that is open till dawn - ie 5am. Hence, things get busy around 3am when everyone wants a piece of the late night action.

This is a little kitsch this place, but, its a great night out. Heaps of space, cool pool tables awesome night time view, BUT the drinks are a little expensive.

Fluid is inside the Marina Mirage and lends itself to all the Mosmanites and Toorakians that make PD home at varioius times of the year. This is explains the unusual crowd of locals and private school boys and girls!

Dress Code: Fairly relaxed, covered shoes. No shorts.

This is one of a couple pubs in town. A fantastic bistro and open air seating area makes this palce a relaxing place for a few drinks.

I visited on the day of the AFL Grand Final, a huge day!!!

I highly recommend this pub!

Dress Code: Very relaxed.

Iron Bar: Something very different!!!!

While your staying in Port Douglas, visit the Iron Bar one evening. They put on the best surf and turf, yummy wine and a show with a difference.
When you arrive, buy a ticket in the races. After eveyone has eaten, the fun begins. Have an extra drink or two as you may be chosen to race a cane toad!!!!
If your number is picked you will be in the race. You may have to kiss or hug this ugly creature. If it doesnt hop where it is meant to, you have to pick it up and put it back on track.
IIt makes for a fun Aussie evening.!!!!

Dress Code: very casual.

Spend 1 week in Port Douglas and ate 4 times at " On the inlet" fish strai from the boat on the dish. Come late afternoon and you can buy plastic buckets filed with Seafood - great place to join this and the sunset and some serious wine ....plus George the groper ... an enormouds fish that comes there every evening to feed.

A must do when you are in Port Douglas. ( Noticed a lot of locals going there as well , so it must be really good !!

Dress Code: Casual
