The Rustic Olive Italian Kitchen located on the seafront drive in central Redcliffe with a view of the Pier gets full marks from your scribe but more importantly from his better half who insisted that we go back for a Sunday Lunch after a very pleasant Saturday evening meal.
We were aware of the popularity of the venue and made our dinner booking well in advance. You would be wise to book a table rather than take pot luck.
The Rustic Olive is unlicensed so allows B.Y.O. (2 dollars per person corkage). Soft drinks and waters only available to buy.
We occupied table 16 both times which gave us a top spot for “people watching” as the public footpath (sidewalk) passes through the outdoor section of the restaurant. This is a "busy" restaurant and we enjoyed watching the staff at work. They seemed to be very well trained and were very attentive without being overbearing.
The Rustic Olive has a big menu with multiple choices in all the usual Italian Food groups...for example - Pasta – a huge range 32 – all of your favourites - two sizes Entrée & Main with average price for main $23 (glutin-free pasta available).
Traditional Rustic Pizza 8 choices average price for large $24.Gourmet Pizza 16 choices average for large $26

Veal, crumbed & pan-fried, finished w` lemon butter & white wine upto $40 for Reef & Beef (350gm)

Favorite Dish: For Dinner, we chose Main course only, For madam the Scaloppine Lemon
Veal, crumbed & pan-fried, finished w` lemon butter & white wine $23. For him Fettuccine Monaco
Scallops, prawns & salmon in a dill cream sauce $25. Both dishes were deemed A-one re taste, size of meal and presentation.
For lunch we shared the Antipasto Platter which was more than enough to keep us going until the evening meal.
All in all, a great dining experience. Bring your own Wine makes it most economical.
We will be returning very soon.
Note: A subsequent visit with one grandson with us reinforced our high opinion of the restaurant. He gave the Bambinos Meal the Thumbs Up.
The belvedere is a great hotel for a meal. Most people sit outside on the decks watching the bay which is just over the road.
