Fosters Lager.

Favorite thing: Let’s make no secret of it. We both like a nice cold glass of beer. Being abroad is always a challenge to find a beer we like, which reflects our taste of having a beer. In Australia it was sometimes rather difficult. We found out that there are quite some local beers, only known in that particular area. But anyway, we did like the international known Foster’s Lager.

Fosters was founded in Melbourne in 1886 by two American brothers, William and Ralph Foster, who happened to own a refrigeration plant, which was necessary to brew beer in Australia's hot climate. Foster's Lager uses the slogan "The Amber Nectar" in Australia. While popular in many countries, particularly where it is brewed locally, Foster's Lager does not enjoy widespread popularity in Australia by any means. It struggles to compete with a large number of other "local beers" (low-cost and mass-produced varieties) usually depending on state, for example XXXX, Carlton Draught, Tooheys, Coopers, West End, Swan, Emu Bitter or Victoria Bitter.

Beach and Sunshine

Favorite thing: We visited many places in Australia, but we had the first time a beach with people. I know, when we where there we had winter. But in Surfers Paradise in August we still had good time and good weather. After Melbourne thet was a real paradise. :)

Surfers at night

Favorite thing: We had big waling in the night and next day. We were shopping and we had a nice chinese "all you can eat" lunch. The hotels are like in Miami, Florida, but the weather was very nice. Good for look around.

Beach of Surfers Paradise

Favorite thing: We spend a day and a hole night in this time. We had a party and I think one more day in usually enough if you don't like water. Swimming or surfing. The accomodation was cheap, if you think about Sydney.

Favorite thing: Visit the great barrier reef, one of the natural wonders of the world !

Fondest memory: Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef is one of the highlights of my travels ! The reef with the colourful corals and marine life is too fantastic to be described in words ! You need a special camera to take the beautiful underwater photos.
