Surfers Paradise is awful for clubs. The music is dire top 40's/commercial mainstream music played by fake dj's. The music is the same in every club. You hear it in one, it's the same in the other. They use a program called nightlife, which is basically choose, click and play. There is no proper, real d.j talent in surfers.
A majority of the bar staff are not that great, and the door staff are incompetent and on a power trip. An awful place for clubbing and nightlife.
There are however a few nice pubs. Lansdowne, Fiddlers, Waxy's e.t.c.
Want decent times, then Byron Bay has a nice club or travel to Brisbane for some decent music.
Dress Code: Pretty crap state of affairs for dress code really.

Surfers Paradise offer a lot of nightclubs to cater for most people's taste.
A lot of the clubs are similar, Melba's, The Bedroom, Cocktails and Dreams. Offering most of the commercial pop/R&B tracks. These places are always busy and packed with many people.
Melba's would be the most popular but expect a decent line up in the summer time.
Shooter's is a saloon style pub, but with a good dance floor.
I would also recommend the nightclub tours. I went on one last new years with some friends and it was a blast.
Dress Code: Most of the pubs/clubs in Surfers have the usual dress code. Neat shirt, jeans and either nice casual shoes or trendy lady killers. Women can wear whatever, whenever. A lot less strict than Melbourne or Sydney.

This was a bar crawl with about 5 bars or so. Including a short boat trip with drinking games etc, Ticket price included entrance to all the bars/clubs and i think a free shot in each aswell. How good the night is totally depends on what other people are on the crawl but if you're happy to make the effort with strangers or theres a group of you going theres no reason for it not to be a laugh. Ticket price also included t-shirt and group photo which is a nice little momento!

Theres loads of bars and clubs in Surfers, many doing backpacker deals. In Summer its rammed. We went in Shooters, Bourbon bar and a club called Cocktails and Dreams. Dont really remember any of them but think i had a good time!

During the day this place serves lunch, at the start of the evening it's more or less a bar and later on at night it turns into a nightclub, which is upstairs.
The music they play is the same as in most other bars and nightclubs: commercial hits and most of those tracks are being played twice (at least...).
The good thing about this spot is that it's always packed with people, mainly backpackers. All the hostels in town can provide you with vouchers that give you free admittance and most of the times a couple of free drinks as well.

Daytime surfing at night partiing. We enjoyed our stay. We had free drink cupons. We visited like 5 pubs and discos. I liked the videoclip discos. We never have the videoclip with the musics in the discos. Be careful with the drogs!

This is a really cool spot because in addition to having a great floorplan and trendy vibe, the crowd was actually over the age of 21. Maybe we were getting bad advice on most of the places we were told to visit, but it seemed like Surfer's Paradise night life is like hanging out in Lake Havasu for Spring Break... just a bunch of college and high school kids. Quest is a new hot spot actually located in Broadbeach.
Dress Code: Not to sure... but everyone was dressed well.
