This tiny sunshine coast town, had a few nice Murals on a couple of buildings, and on the Town’s Public Toilets. The Murals, depicting the heritage of the town were very well done and worth a look at.
Woombye is only about 1km off the Old Bruce Highway near Nambour and a short 5 -10 mins from Palmwoods.
Lucky for Woombye the town is on the main railway line between Brisbane and Nambour....The Sunlander does not stop here though...you have to alight in Nambour.
The waiting room is worth a look .......see the photo attached.
Once a famous Queensland icon, it is still there, but now is a Farmers Market and is indoors, so good place to come on a wet day. A farmer's market means produce, but there are gourmet food and arts.
The Pineapple is all nicely painted and looks good, it still can be climbed.
The Animal Farm is open.. SAT 8 - 3PM SUNDAY 9 - 3PM Admission $4.
The Parfait Cafe & gift shop is open WED - SUN 9 - 3.30PM
The Markets are every SUNDAY 6.30 - 12 noon.
You will drive past the Big Pineapple on your way to Woombye if coming from Brisbane
