I went on a paddle wheeler on The Murray River. The cruise was with Captain Cook cruises on the Paddle Steamer Murray Princess.
We left Adelaide on a coach and went to a atown called Mannum, where we boarded the ship and spent a fascinating week cruising slowly up and down the river.
The Murray is Australia's largest river and flows inland. It serves many small towns and historically has been very important as a trade passage way to the coast.
These day it is mostly for pleasure.
The accomodations aboard are great as is the food and service.
one is able to get a real feel for this wonderful river as well as a close up look at the amazing bird life and animal life along the river bank. Highly recommend it

Take a day trip to my beloved River Murray. The township of Mannum is an easy one to get to from Adelaide and is a beautiful spot.
There are river cruises to go one, picnic spots, and lots of wildlife. A glorious day out.
