Clare and Clare Valley is an acclaimed Wineregion, surrounded by classic Farmland and a prestine Bushland. the among rolling Hills and everchanging Landscape, you will not find a dull moment.
the Township of Clare is just 1 1/2hours drive from Adelaide. Edward Burton Gleeson settled here 1840 and started a Farming Community. self-sufficiency was paramount at the time, a two weeks ride to Adelaide in those days not helpfull.
soon the region was known as Garden of the North. these days all conviencies of modern life is here. Banks, ATM Machines, Supermarkets, Service Stations, offering late trading hours. and sure the local handicraft and produce are of high quality.

the Athmosphere and Lifestyle in and around Clare is just at the right pace. sure the summers can get hot, winters never to cold. a Wine Region of high quality and class

If you're driving to the Clare Valley from Adelaide you will probably arrive in Auburn, at the southern end of the wine region. From here to Clare the major townships are:
Leasingham
Watervale
Pentwortham
Mintaro (you'll turn off to the right after Pentwortham to reach Mintaro)
Sevenhill (after Pentwortham on the main road and a short drive back from Mintaro)
Clare

All around these townships are many fine vineyards, cellar door sales, restaurants, places to stay and explore.

The Clare Valley is made up of a number of small towns and around each town are a number of fine wineries. Here is a basic map of the area.
Fondest memory:
Having someone else to drive is great - you get to taste all the wonderful wines on offer. Although famous for it's white wines, Clare produces a number of fine reds too.
In summer you can bike to the wineries along the bike tracks that traverse the Clare Valley.
