Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend

Okay, okay this isn't really a local custom, but the Clare Valley Gourmet weekend is a tradition that has been running in Clare since 1985. It's usually held in May (2007 was May 5th & 6th).
The South Australia Tourism website states; "The Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend was the first of its kind in Australia and our pioneering group of local winemakers continue their innovative approach to food and wine" each year for an entire weekend in May.
There are vintage tastings, local products, restaurants with special menus and entertainment. It's a great weekend and one worth taking part in if you happen to be in South Australia when it's on.
