The Loxton Historical Village is run by volunteers and depicts early life in the Loxton area. The building are all real, they have been carefully removed from different small townships and farms near and in Loxton.

The staff are friendly, the food is good, the view is lovely and meals are reasonably priced.
Favorite Dish: T-Bone steak. It fills your plate and is tender, its costs under $18AUD, all meals come with vegetables or salads. At lunch time Wednesdays it only costs $6.50 AUD with chips and help yourself salads.

The Loxton hotel is very family friendly and has friendly staff. The Loxton Club also very family friendly and has friendly staff. Both venues have very nice meals at reasonable prices.
Dress Code: Clean neat casual clothes.

Petrol costs around 87.9c a litre. There are 5 petrol stations in and around Loxton. But there are no 24 hour or coin operated outlets. Petrol outlets close at 8pm.

There are Tiger snakes near the river and other snakes are found in long grass and under bushes around the river and in the areas around Loxton.
Sand-drifts on rural roads can be very dangerous if hit at high speeds.

Luggage and bags: Any Luggage is fine.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Both light weight and warm clothes of your choice, as evenings can suddenly turn cool, even in summer. Walking shoes/boots, sneakers, thongs.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Insect Repellent!!! Most other things you can buy locally.
Photo Equipment: Cameras and plenty of film. Film and memory for digital cameras can be bought locally.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Tents, sleeping bags and other shady covering. Gas stove, cooking gear, fishing gear.

It is well worth the time to drive out on the rural roads and out into the Sunset National Park, or just along the river.
