An interlinking of lives

In Sixth Street there is a lovely old building that has been gutted and made into the local art gallery. With its high ceilings and spacious rooms it makes an ideal location for such an activity.
When we were there a travelling exhibition from Tasmania called "Hands - a love story told in the language of children about the lives of people nearest to them" which turned out to be a wonderfully imaginative work, in particular I remember two figures implanted on a thong (as in footwear). This symbolized the meeting of the child's parents when the to-be mother had lost her thong on the beach and the to-be father found it and returned it. A strange but poignant way for a romance to start.

Attractive balconies on Sixth Street

If you rock up to the Tourist Information Centre they will give you a self-guiding map. This allows you to wander at your leisure and explore the town.
It takes you past buildings of the 19th century that you might otherwise overlook and many of the early 20th that you can't miss. Whatever, this is an interesting town whose riverside location on Australia's greatest river has made for an interesting past.

The Bridge over the Murray River

Murray Bridge is named for the first bridge ever built over the Murray River. Very intelligent that. It is a town about 2/3 hour from Adelaide in SA.
